I know this is an old post, but just so you know, I used the switch to turn the system on and off. I asked Audere to custom-make the switch circuit for me (mosfet, so there is no pop in the speakers). Now I don’t have to unplug the audio cable to save the batteries (two 9v = 18volts), just play and turn off the system when done... ask them about it. You’re right about this preamp. It converted my 6-string Peavey Grind so-so bass into a “$5000 Studio masterpiece”. I’ve been with Audere for 7years now. Best preamp out there.

Thanks to you I ordered the Classic 5 control for my Warmoth project. I have the body which is roasted ash and I'm waiting on the neck to come in and it will be roasted maple. I wanted to have the neck built but my Luthier had a pinky accident.

Anderson...you are so right. I bought mine in black a year ago and thought this is the perfect starting point for a sleeper bass. Bass wood body for light weight and good tone transfer, maple neck and plastic ebonol fret board for its extra bright sound. pickups are standard single coil so with a 18 volt pre amp the sleeper becomes a monster. For more sustain i added a brass nut, 2 more screws to the bridge and strung through the body mod.....Everyone who picks it up says it the best sounding and fun to play bass ever. Im on my 3rd one now and for less than 500 bucks everybody wants one. I even have a brother who brought me everything to build a 5 string with Nate Phillips pickups and preamp. He wants all the trick so you have found the HOLY GRAIL of low cost basses.

brother, that is a funky sound. I had the white version of that bass and sold it. I've hated myself ever since, lol.

Been thinking of pulling the trigger on a Jazz 4B T. This video helped a lot. Really like the idea that you can roll up the bass without sending the volume through the roof. That's always been a pet peeve of mine. Thanks, man. Nice bass work too.

No doubt Family I have them in 2 of my Bass Guitars one is in a 4 string Fender Squire and the other one is in a project Bass I put together with Aguilar Musicman pickup and 67 /70 Bassline Jazz neck position with an Omega Bass bridge. OMG is right Sick .I'm the same I can't even play those Basses with out smiling from ear to ear.

I had the 5 string version of your bass and sold it years ago...now I'm kicking myself ....,dang. 😔 Oh well I still have my Vintage Modified 5 Jazz( and like you told me in your reply,the Audere system will work with it.) Can't wait,feel like a kid before Christmas!

I love the tone I have a Tom Clement custom bass and it has a Pro Z in it.

So I have that bass in white - right handed, 5 string :-). With Audere's Pro Z pre amp. Love it. I have a 2000 Dean 6 string that I want to put this preamp in.

Old school Squier jazz bass they don't have that model selling no more, but it's a good sounding bass with the Audere preamp.

I'm using Bartolini's on mine. The G and A string sound fine.

It's a great pre amp, I have it in a few of my basses even a squire vm5 and it sounds great

I feel Audere preamps are the best too. I have a Jz Pro 4 band in a Squire Vintage Modified Jazz and I can't part with it. I'm thinking of putting the Audere Classic in a Squire Classic Vibe Jazz. .

I love mine!!! On a USA Fender Hiway One Jazz. You could replace the toggle with Auderes Z switch..

I love the sound of bartolini pickups you can pick them out of a crowd, with this preamp will that tone still be there, or will I be better off just buying a matching bartolini preamp. After hearing your experience with Audere and the fact they're built here is rather stick with them by the sounds of it.

I’m running a JZ3 PRO 4 Band with the programmable Z switch in my KEN SMITH KSD - No words - I tried the classic in my squire, 👎🏽 But the JZ3 pro 4 Band no doubt

I built a parts J bass and fitted it with Kent Armstrong Hot Lipstick tube pups. I topped it off with the exact Audere preamp you've demoed.I love what it does to my tone.That Squire sounds very nice.I wonder if there's a P bass version.Subbed!

Does your volume knob and switch work with the audere preamp? Also, how did you figure out what wires to solder etc

I reached out to David at Audere a few months ago . We had some pickups tested by david at Audere , wanted to see if the pickups i have will compare to the JZ3 Audere preamp that i got years ago . I have the JZ3 installed in a bass that has Linda Fralin custom pups now but like i stated before david tested some more custom pups i have to see if they will copare to the JZ3 . My question i see there is three setting on the preamp itself that i can adjust anybody messed with their setting ?
