Squier by Fender Vintage Bass Guitar made in 1983 on my Luthier Workbench. This amazing Bass guitar has a massiv problem.
A broken Truss Rod.... The owner asked me to take care about this heavy played Instrument. First of all I have to remove the broken Truss Rod. I decided to do it without removing the Skunk Stripe of this one-piece-maple Neck. This is a quite tricky and time consuming repair and in this Video you can follow the whole process. I will also explain and show a couple of "Luthier Hacks" in this Video. So if you are interested in my Luthier Craftsmanship stay tuned and enjoy the Video. I love doing stuff like that - if you are interested in more of my Luthier life Projects, please feel free to check out my other extended Workshop Videos on this channel.
Enjoy watching and sharing.

Tolle Arbeit!

Petrek Guitars..In fact it is not a ''Squier by Fender Bullet Precision Bass''....It is in fact a Squier Bullet One bass made by FujiGen Gakki in Japan...In 1981-82, FujiGen obtained the Fender Japan contract which lasted until 1996-97....FujiGen also built Orville by Gibson under contract and Epiphone Japan solid body guitars, some Gretsch models and their own branded FGN guitars. FujiGen still manufactures OEM guitars for companies like Ibanez and Epiphone....but the Squier Bullet One was never built by Fender...

I've been playing bass for over 20 years and adjusting a truss rod is something I have never felt comfortable doing... 1. I don't want to ruin my guitar by doing something i have no idea how to do. 2. Most will say WOW you have been playing for 20 and don't know how to do adjustments to your instruments... Great job on the repair, If it wouldn't cost an arm and leg to ship to your area from The states. I'd love to have you do a repair on a bass i own. Cheers mate!!!!

Not all necks can get their trussrod removed without huge damage/work. For instance double action trussrod necks are often having the trussrod glued and the nut cannot be unscrewed/removed. You have to open the neck to get it removed and it's a huge amount of work.

I admire the surgical stainless steel tray that you're using for collecting the screws! Do you do desinfection after each use as well? BTW, subscribed from Toronto due to the similar issue with me first American standard strat, 1981. If I had you solved that issue back then, I'd not end up with another 20 PC's of collectible crap. I'd be totally happy with that one, the first one..😢 and you know what, I've subscribed to your a$#zing channel, because I didn't hear any bla bpa blah, just a hard work. Respect from Toronto!

Very nice work. Do you have any ideas for a stripped truss rod nut in an Ibanez with a dual action rod? The Grabber tools don't quite work. I've read about putting wax on wrench, putting a bit of epoxy into the stripped nut, and letting it dry around the wrench. I haven't been brave enough to try that yet.
