Emergers are always great to have a stock of in your fly box. This is a play on an early variation of them called a flymph. A form of soft hackle this pattern has a lot of movement and translucency that screams for a fish to eat it. From my understanding the original patterns did not have the ribbing or at least from the descriptions I found it was not mentioned but I like the addition of them. The Krystal Pearl works wonders as well for this giving it a bit of flash. By using the touch dubbing method as well it allows you to create some translucency to help with the buggy look along with the spikey squirrel tail dubbing. All said and done there are a lot of triggers on the pattern that make a trout want to eat them.
I have added a little run down on how to whip finish at the end as well.
Happy Tying Everyone!
