Hi Joe, cool you got yourself an SR! You would get best power, while remaining silent by improving the intake and leaving the exhaust stock (or using a highly restrictive, sound dampening silencer). One of our customers has dynoed his bike with our intake kit and stock exhaust and got a 15% power increase. Hi Mike. I had a '96 SR that had the same tail section that you describe on yours. The '80s stock rear guard fastens to the frame in much the same way, so swapping out that will work. Alternatively you could mount one of our universal aluminium guards like what we have done on our bike in the video. That guard is mounted with some rubber dampers in both the stock frame brace and the bracket on the rear frame loop :)

Thanks! The fork tubes are pushed up through the triple tree - so they are not lowered internally at all. The clip-ons are bolted to the fork tubes above the triple tree (about 60mm) :)

It is loud. It passes inspection but only just. We found that the silencer held noise levels below 84dB at idle, below 90dB at 2000rpm and below 94dB at 4000rpm. We would really like to develop a quietning insert that reduces noise a little but other projects have take priority the last year.

@@noel5413 Most mufflers will fit because they usually come with a reducer set. There are a lot of aftermarket silencers that would be quieter and work well :)
