Finally, a good looking set of crash bars for the gen 3 KLR. The skid plate looks great too, lets chuck them on the beast.

So great to see that these kinds of protection mods are coming out quick for the new KLR. I really love this whole set. You can see multiple areas of improvement over the motech plate. I find on that plate there's a few spots where the plate, frame, and engine come into contact. I recently popped mine off and put on some rubber padding and caked on several layers of truck bed liner too. But this SRC plate looks really solid and very form fitting. Great parts choice.

People have been struggling to find the links so I'll put them below. Also some answers for you. These are the retail version, so what you see is what you get. The weight is 2.6kg a side (5.2kg total). They fit the adventure model, but you will have to remove the stock engine bars. Any other questions fire away. My respect goes out to you for fitting these on your own, spent the last 30 min trying to line up the bolts for the foot pegs with no luck. It doesn’t help that it’s about 38 deg in my garage, will get an extra pair of hands later today and finish the job.

It was tricky, especially filming at the same time. What worked for me was getting it square by grabbing the front of the crash bar, using my knees and lining it up that way. Or just get someone to help haha. Good luck

Excellent informative vid, as have been the previous one's. I live 30 kms from the SRC factory and have had dealings with them in the past for a couple of my bike's. Absolutely top quality design and manufacture across there product range. Great staff always helpful and happy to see you when you visit the factory, and will show you around to view the products being made. Also they will fit what you buy free of charge. Here in Thailand most high end duel sport bike's are loaded with SRT protection and accessories. As you point out in the vid on the Klr bash plate .the quality of the Mig welding is outstanding, and all done 100% by hand,.

Those are great looking crash bars. Best by far of any I have seen. If I can get some I hope they will fit alright with my Happy Trails bash plate. I also agree with you that the AX41 tires will work out great.

WOW... pretty I went with the Happy Trails bash plate I haven't done my crash bars yet... I'm still deciding on that but these SRC's look good and since you've already crashed yours you are right where the damage is done the most.

The following is from SRC. I made an inquiry after seeing they didn't have any parts available for a KLR650 and Scott got back to me right away.. We are the North American distributor for SRC. There is an Australian distributor. We felt that the cost of the KLR parts was too high compared to similar competitive products, so we have been negotiating with SRC Designs to come up with a way to lower the cost and we just recently came to terms on that and that, so now we have the KLR parts on order.

I've been waiting for this video. I completely agree about the other bars, especially the ones that go over the front wheel. Those looks awful and these look great. Unfortunately, SRC doesn't seem to have anything on their site for the KLR yet.

I love your dits Curtis. It's interesting how these bars mount again to the foot pegs. The original SW Motech Gen2 bars did, until they and everyone else realised that the pegs were held on by just four threads on the Gen2. They then moved to clamping their bars to the bottom of the cradle. How are the foot peg mounts or threads on this new model?

These definitely look great compared to the butt ugly competitors. I really wish they would utilize the rear anchors on the bottom frame rails vs the notoriously fragile footpeg mounts. I may buy these and modify them myself. It would be doable. Thanks for posting the overall weight, that helps.

I ended up going with the T-rex crash bars. Much more coverage, and offers great places for some fog/spotlights that I need to install for night riding.

It's just a generic street bike stand. I certainly wouldn't call it perfect. The brand is Torpedo 7 but it looks the same as all the cheapies

My Adventure comes with crash bars but there minimal. Not sure if yours would fit the Adventure ?

Guess the dealer who I was considering buying a 2022 KLR from lied to me. I told him I was considering doing my own crash bars and he said it needed to be drilled into the bike... That I might want to let them do it... I don't recall you making new screw holes into the bike on this video at all lol...

Yes, you will have to remove the ADV engine bars though. No great loss imo

Curious to know if you get much vibration on the crashbars when on the road. I've got the same ones installed and when I reach down and touch the bars when travelling 80km/hr or more there is a fair bit of vibration happening on the bars and a little bit back through the footpegs.

First thoughts are, maybe a little bit through the pegs. I haven't reached down and touched them when riding, but can't say there's been a huge difference. I've got to do some more riding with them on and I'll let you know

I honestly haven't looked into getting a centre stand. I'll see if anyones got first hand experience and can answer for you and do some research in the mean time

Hi Mark. They are good, not amazing. I would like a bit more protection overall, completely understand I crash more than most and would be fine for the average Jo. They are being redesigned so I would wait for them
