7-1-2019 - Libmanan Station Bridge (Bicol, Philippines)

Libmanan was opened on February 3, 1929 as part of the expansion of the Legazpi Division Line from Tabaco, Albay to Libmanan, through passenger services to and from Manila commenced on January 31, 1938 after the Legazpi Division Line and Main Line South were merged into a continuous network called the Manila-Legazpi Line.
The station still sees two Bicol Commuter services, in each direction, each day.

Love those 'MRR' grills. I hope stations along the South Line would be preserved in the long term. Construction of the raised platform seems to have been abandoned though just like in Lucena. I wonder if there were anomalies. Ragay and Pili seem to have been completed based on google maps.

It is interesting to see various stations with either MRR or PNR in the grills. I think at least one had a mixture of both.

naalala kopa mallit na bata pa ako dyan ako naglalaro sa station ng libmanan habang ang aking ama ay tinataguan ako sa station sana makabalik ako makitang muli libmanan 😊

What happens when the big train with locomotive comes ahead ??

Everyone gets off the sled and the operator removes it. When the train passes, the sled is put back and everyone jumps on again. At the time this was taken, bridge damage at Libmanan meant that no trains were running. They have restarted, with only two in each direction, each day.
