A fragment of a documentary from the early 70s. The historic video footage of the Ashram and Auroville life is very valuable and of high quality. You can witness the Mother's Darshan, meet Amal Kiran, Udar Pinto, Keshav Dev Poddar, Ananta and others. Hindi, English and Russian subtitles are provided (according to your preferred language setting).

I am blessed very lucky as As Arvindo stayed in my in laws house in Baroda for 9 years with Khasheroa Jadhav . Our house of Baroda has become National monument . Arbindo Ashram , his blessing are always with us .

I was there in the crowd during 1971 since i was living just few streets away. It refreshed my memory and worked for Ashram related activity for few years.

How much hard work has been put in by so many backed by The Grace of The Mother in Auroville! Look how it was in 1971 and how it is today. It’s tremendous! It’s my spiritual home. Wherever I go in this world, something of me remains lingering at the Ashram and the Auroville.. love you Maa.

🙏pranams to divine mother ,I had balcony darshan of mother in 1971 ,when I was in class 9.iwas with my father and brothers.the whole bus full of our villagers led by uncle Dr ganta gopal reddy, who had mothers blessings was there.- Dr ganta sathyanarayana reddy ,Agril scientist and secretary sri aurobindo institute of rural development gaddipally village suryapet dist Telangana

In my life i am blessed being a mother devotee. Always she protects us from mental& physical illness. Definitely one should visit ashram& auroville in pondicherry. Thank you for uploading this beautiful video.

Rather too many inaccuracies: e.g. Sri Aurobindo did not come to Pondicherry for political asylum, nor was The Mother "a disciple who took over after Sri Aurobindo's death". Sri Aurobindo himself clearly revealed The Mother's divinity, place in the cosmic scheme and reality in his letters later comprising the booklet The Mother.

This is a beautiful historic footage, with commentary reflecting level of understanding of the author, a Canadian professor, with no connection to the Integral Yoga tradition. What do you suggest - not showing the documentary?

We do not call elders by their names,he is referred to as Sri Aurobindo and not just Aurobindo. Do you call your brothers just by their first names ? No . That's considered disrespectful.

For a Canadian, the attitude is very respectful - each culture has its norms and traditions. And overall the content is priceless, especially the Mother's Darshan they have captured.

Often in western culture this is the case. We call out mothers and fathers as such, we call our grandparents by grandmother/ father than their name, but our siblings we just call by their first names. It is very normal to do so. Others we call by first name, Mr. Ms, or MRS.. my point is there was no disrespect intended, just cultural differences 🙏

I have disliked the way the documentary was made as if it is a probe, but has no genuine enquiry as to what is being offered nor an attenpt to seek the path. Not everything can be perceived with meagre and physical logic
