We travel by STLB government bus and show exactly what it is like travelling on public transport in Sri Lanka. Not for the faint hearted but quite an adventure!
We show the beautiful jungle region around Tissa and the amazing LakeSide Cabanas where it is possible to stay on a budget in the most wonderful treehouse. This is the base for the world class safari's into Yala National Park where it is possible to see Leopards in the wild!

Hi Mr B. 😍. I loved that place. Great atmosphere, comfortable and roomy and excellent value for money. Like with most places in Sri Lanka we wished we'd have factored in more time to stay longer to just chill and relax before racing off somewhere else. 🤣 Turns out 7 weeks wasn't enough in SL and we'll have to return to explore more. 🙏😊

Definitely been on crowded buses but don’t recall ever being on a bus with five-across seating (2+3). 😮 We stopped at the stilt fishing place. Don’t think you missed much. More interesting to read about vs seeing it. 📙 Cool place you found to crash. Hopefully you’ll get to see the white leopards on your safari. They are super cool and rare. 🐆 Cheers.

Hi Lucchesse 😊 yeh, those 3 seats together on the buses are a pretty tight squeeze so you really do end getting to know the person next to you. 🤣. Great you saw the people stilt fishing. I've only seen pictures. Quite an amazing concept! The treehouse was awesome 👍 We so could have stayed longer. The safari was my personal highlight of Sri Lanka. You'll see our experience in the next video. 😍🇱🇰😍 All the best 😊

Hi Mandy / Lee, What a contrast between taking the empty buses in Saudi and the jam packed buses in Sri Lanka 😲 Nice / spacious / affordable tree house. Since there aren't any windows & it's near the water, Were you bothered by Mosquitos? How long did you stay in Sri Lanka? I assumed most your meals were vegetarian, isn't it too difficult? Hi Sergio 👋 That certainly is a huge contrast. Sri Lanka is quite densely populated and the very affordable public transport makes it very popular. Buses and trains are always busy. 😁 The tree house was an amazing find, recommended by another traveller we'd met who stayed there. 😊. We had a mossie net over the bed so slept soundly but they were definitely out and about whilst on the balcony at dusk. Always keep covered! 😬 We stayed 7 weeks and loved the fresh, healthy food. Went virtually vegetarian as it seemed natural there. Veggie rice and curry being the staple dish. The food was great and it was really good for us. Have a wonderful weekend 🙏😍

Hi Mandy and Lee Firstly I want to commend Lee being you knight with the shining Armour through difficult times you are blessed. FYI my late Dad did attend Massy College Palmesten North in the 50's . I have some of his black and white slides which he took while in New Zealand . They are lying around the house some ware got to find them. Alex Rothman a Kiwi and fellow U tuber made documentary while traveling during the Economic crisis. I highly recommend you watch it I have put New Zealand on my bucket list fingers crossed . You have spent 7 weeks in Sri Lanka .. Thats a quite a good time to explore Srilanka well.. I wonder if you visit north eastern north west past of SL ? i mean Anuradhapura Polonnaruwa ancient cities and i would like to recommend Jaffna north of SL to visit next time if you havent and also east coast Trincomalee .. Not much tourists go to North SL.. There are many untouched areas to discover ... Hope you guys had a great time in Srilanka.. Its lovely to see you guys happy all the time .

Hi there 👋. We did have a fantastic time in Sri Lanka and easily could have stayed longer. We spent time in Trinco, Nilaveli and uppuveli and will be showing them in further videos. 😍. We intended to go to Jaffna but our plans had to change when Mandy received her cancer diagnosis. 😔 It's a good excuse to come back in the future and explore more of this wonderful island ❤️🇱🇰 The pearl of Asia. 😊

A great video! 💕 i wanted to ask, as someone who’s planning to go to Sri Lanka and haven’t been before, seeing the sort of the sad incidents that happened back in 2019, would you say now it’s more safer? In terms of security and just how it is now? 😅

Hello and thank you 🙏. It was so sad what happened in 2019. It's so hard to predict something like that happening. We felt safe for the entire 7 week stay travelling all around Sri Lanka. We weren't sure after the economic crisis but we were comfortable the whole time we were there. I think crime levels are very low and there is a police presence in the big cities. I wouldn't hesitate to return. ❤️🇱🇰

In Sinhala the spoken language and written language is not the same. Portuguese , Dutch and Singlish words in the spoken lingo Ordering tea T-a ( Kiri T-a milk tea) Plain tea plain tea( T-a seeni Na-tu -wa tea with out sugar) Mandy may be you could give a taste of Kiwi English as they say over here keep motoring on and a Happy and safe travels greetings from Florida

Love watching your vloggin s .full of smiles and kindness. Never a single complaint. You both take things as they come. Sri Lanka isn't a so called first world country. But if someone really wants it can cater from 7 Star to home stays. Thing s in Sri Lanka is very affordable to any traveller. You are guaranteed you will get more than what you spent. Sometimes you will be little uncomfortable by using public transport. But cant complain because the amount anyone pay for journey is peanuts. 😂 where on earth anyone can travel for 5 hours for less than 2$ per person. 😂 Most people don't know Sri Lanka is an independent country. We have nothing to do with India. Some Spanish tourists being gang rape in India. Sri Lanka has nothing to do with it.i read somebody questioning safe to travel to Sri Lanka. Remembering 2019 bomb blast s .that also nothing to do with Sri Lanka. That was the revenge attack ISLAMIC TERRORIST S carried out on account of the New Zealand atack on Muslims. These kind of things happening all over the world. But life has to go on. SRI LANKA is always safe . Happy and safe journey to both of you. Much❤

That's a good question, Zadako. I personally never once felt unsafe on my own in Sri Lanka, but I have read blogs and FB group posts about women being hassled. The people we met during our 7 weeks in Sri Lanka were all friendly and helpful. ~ Mandy
