I'm from Colorado, United States of America, and I took this trip back in 2017, and it was absolutely amazing. The facilities now are more polished than they were then of course, but the experience was something that has stayed with me. Watching the mountains was a fantastic life experience. Thank you for bringing it back! I love Sri Lanka, the people are so warm and friendly, and so much natural beauty nice.

Guys I don't if you are still in Sri Lanka. But if you are in Sri Lanka, tomorrow comes the Wesak Full moon Poya Day. Which is the biggest buddhist ceremony and celebration all over Sri Lanka. If you have your tuk tuk, just go a ride any where in Sri Lanka. You will get free foods and drink every where on the roads. They will invite you by waving a yellow or buddhist flag. As well at night there are so many light celebrations. Just try it that will be good experience.

Train rides are a great way to see Sri Lanka. Now that you are on your way to Kandy be sure to take the train trip from Kandy to Ella. It beautiful, a real highlight.

I took a Sri Lankan first class train from Kandy to Haputale. As it was high up, there were amazing views to see, if you had a window seat with a window! They served a meal on the train as well but it wasn't memorable... First class tend to be full of tourists so it might pay to book a lower class if you wanna meet the locals. Also Kandy has many railway stations so make sure you go to the correct one with your train.

My friend, The English name Kandy, (in sinhala Nuwara) which originated during the colonial era, is derived from an anglicised version of the Sinhala Kanda Uda Rata (meaning the land on the mountain) or Kanda Uda Pas Rata (the five counties/countries on the mountain). 😊😊😊

Hi Danny. If you haven't been to Kandy already, I'd highly recommend it. Make sure to stroll around the Kandy lake in the afternoon. The views are breathtaking and the atmosphere is nice. You can also take a boat ride in the lake. Afternoon is the best time to explore Kandy.
