In this video we go on a food tour in COLOMBO to try some of the best SRI LANKAN dishes and snacks! It was a great introduction into Sri Lankan food and it made us look forward to trying lots of other dishes in the next few weeks in Sri Lanka. Colombo has some great restaurants and we tried to find some of the best food in Colombo for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was a really delicious food tour in Colombo!

We know it's a very hard situation right now in Sri Lanka and we want to do everything we can to support the locals 🇱🇰 We filmed this video a few weeks ago in February. We were unsure if we should post videos of our time in Sri Lanka, as we don't want to be ignorant of the fact that many people are struggling right now. But ultimately we decided to post our videos of Sri Lanka and hope that they can continue to show the beauty of this country during these tough times, especially because tourism is very important to the country.

If possible try travelling to northern and eastern provinces. You guys will definitely be surprised by the diversity in food, culture and climate compared to what you have seen so far.

Hard to say! But we really like egg hoppers and spicy rice and curry. We also had many elawalu as a snack and of course banana chocolate roti for dessert 😁

6:26 I'm sure that's called "pattis", not elawalu. "Elawalu" translates to "Vegetables" in SL. Maybe you misunderstand what they said of the filling inside.

We were also confused, because on the menu it said Elawalu, but we only knew them as those filled Roti triangles 😁 So we're not sure if that was correct or not.

Thank you! Yes overall it's not as massive and chaotic as India can be in many parts. But we did find a lot of places that did remind us of India, especially because there's also a lot of Indian food in Sri Lanka 😊

At 0:20 The dish before Zoe is a typical Indian thali dish a big packege of main course meal for lunch ( like rice or bhat in local Indian language, lentils or dal or sambar, bread or rooti or chapati, papard or homemade chips, vegetables, and 2 pieces gulab jamun etc and many more.)
