Why did ancient yogis, ascetics, monks and meditators give up sex and took a vow of celibacy and brahmacharya? Is sex detrimental for spiritual growth? Are there any special powers that get unlocked by abstaining from sex? The no-fap movement has become big in recent times even with non-spiritual people. Humans have been having sex since forever, then what is the basis for humans trying to move to a practice of semen retention? Is sex a problem or an obsession to it is unhealthy? Does it make us weak, stressed, angry, frustrated, anxious or sad? Aaaand there goes spirituality... "Masters" need followers. This is the opposite of true spirituality. Spirituality means freedom, Independence, truth, self experience. As long as you follow your masters you are a slave by definition. Once you understand, you will be free.

You don't start martial arts with lowest belt and pretend you know it all and don't need guidance from those that have mastered the things you wish to master.

As wise as he is, Sri Sri has a very puritan and narrow understanding of sexuality. Look at the Christians too. To promote notions of celibacy is to experience just a part of human experience. Born and raised here in the UK...at age 49 Imagine if our Newspapers taught this stuff? And kundalini, celebacy ,yoga etc....? If The Sun Newspaper taught this? Or one of our magazines or TV shows bothered to ...? As great Gurus such as he speaks..? To me.... his talk reveals much more than what his topic of discussion is.saying on a surface level.
