Straight up Sron Na Creise via the North Ridge (Scramble Grade 3) and hiking a horseshoe with two Munros Creise and Meall a' Bhuiridh in Glencoe, Scotland.
Originally I wanted to include a wild camp, but somehow I didn't work out - nevertheless it was an fantastic day in the great scottish highlands with in my opinion the best way up to two rather less exciting Munros: Creise and Meall a' Bhuiridh.

Yes, I was quite unaware of the ridge. Too late for me now as I’m no longer capable of doing the hills; never actually did those Munros in my 220 as I always thought there were more interesting ones. Did a lot around Glencoe but repeated most of the celebrated ones and missed these. Surprises me that you carry the stick on scrambly bits but is that the camera? Also quite surprised the way you used the sticks on descent with a heavy bag. Always found it a great help descending with a heavy bag for the right pole to hit the ground just before the left foot and vice versa. Maybe you need a free hand for the camera. I never wanted to worry about a camera while moving; I was fully occupied staying on my feet!

You asked a question and gave your opinion re comparing relatively easy going with more complex terrain such as scrambling and how you felt. I do agree with you. I guess whilst you are fully focused on the scramble you are less aware of how much height you have gained or still have to gain, similarly unless weather conditions are awful then I’d say you are less aware of them than when on an easy walk when you have time to think about how far you have to go/poor weather. However I would also say that as I have aged I find it easier to deal with those long stretches when you just want to get there.
@StripeyHatGuy
@StripeyHatGuy Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your reply Charles! Excellent explanation, makes absolutely sense! What I think is really interesting that you observed that the long stretches feel easier - for me it is particular bad when I did a tour already before and I have the feeling that I already know every stone... Thanks a lot Charles! ATB Stripey
@charlesrobert9527
@charlesrobert9527 Жыл бұрын
I definitely struggled more with the long stretches when I was younger. Frustration/impatience at not getting to the goal? I’m not sure why they don’t feel so bad these days. Maybe short term memory loss means I can’t remember that I have already been walking for ages on one particular stretch 😂😂🤣. I think it is more to do with being able to switch off and think about other things. Whatever the reasons it definitely is enjoyable tackling scramble type routes that keep your focus. I am certainly enjoying your videos as they are very encouraging to try out new routes. I also consider your videoing techniques to be very good viewing. So thanks so much for all the sharing you do.

Did the same route except I dropped down the chairlift. It’s a decent scramble - not in the same league as Curved Ridge - but it’s quiet and feels more adventurous in some ways.
@StripeyHatGuy

Hi Richard yeah it depends probably which route you take. The route I took was also easier than the curved ridge but as always so many possible ways! 👍

Hi Craig141281, it is a really nice scramble hope you enjoy it! Well what can I say, I am actually no Munro bagger at all - just like to scramble, wild camp,... - but there are still a lots of scrambles left I want to do in Glencoe/Blackmounts 👍
