as a qb, how do you remember all these plays
@kmh46747 жыл бұрын
You get the most access to the coaches. As any other position when your learning plays, you often have no reads and you only have to learn your assignment and not really anyone else's. Basically, as long as you do your job, then thats all you need to know. A QB however NEEDS to know EVERYONE'S assignment and EVERY read on EVERY play. Because of this, as a coach, you're QB really needs to be the guy who is the most involved on you're entire team so while most every other learns theirs plays and assignments in practice and maybe only studies the film a little bit for themselves, The QB is a different story. Along with the normal installs we learn in practice and the film we watch with the team, we're also constantly talking to the coaches having conversations by text and in private meetings apart from the team so the QB not only knows what himself and everyone around him is doing but so that coach and QB are totally on the same page come gameday as far as our goals, concepts and specific reads on different plays are concerned. Also all of the constant exclusive communication the we QB's have with our coaches isn't usually the, "He says, he follows." type of communications most players have. It's almost always more of a conversation as equals. My week prior to a game looks like this..... Cnt'd.
@kmh46747 жыл бұрын
First day I'm usually expecting my coach to send me some film to break down before we have our team film meetings, (usually from the game before and of the upcoming team). I'll break down everything I notice myself from our tape, (missed assignments, potential play variations, any mistakes and coaching points for the team as a whole) and of the upcoming team, (Very much the same as breaking down our own tape but less for corrections and more to gameplan). I'll send my mock ups to coach who then does the same for himself before showing both mockups to our offence in our team film meeting. Throughout the week, myself and coach are having meetings and talking back and forth about everything nonstop, who to watch, what reads to make, what to expect, what not to expect, what plays will work and what won't. Add that to the regular practices and You can kinda see how we remember this stuff. not only because we're so involved though but also because a lot of QB's are expected to relay information to coaches that they wouldn't otherwise know or see and as a result, help mold the playbook into what it is rather than just learn it.

I played for Montana University grizzlies in the late 90's. 96 to 99 at quarterback. There was my 3rd game of my freshman year where I went out and passed for 532 yards and 7 touchdowns!!!! Ended the season with 4,328 yards and 39 touchdowns 8ints and the only 8 incomplete passes I threw were the interceptions.

also nice center and the whole ofensive linemen but they need to work on the pass set kick steps cuz they base too wide when they kick, nice easy chop steps

Pretty cool. Only downside to cameras with fisheye view is depth perception gets distorted. Still awesome to watch though.

I remember watching this video before I was in high school thinking this was the coolest thing ever. No I am on the high school football team it’s a whole lot better in person. Everyone’s hyped for the game. People just playing the sport they love.
