It looks easy. However, if I try to do this, I will probably screw it up somehow. Some fun fold cards just won’t work for me. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Sad to hear this but may be you might be doing some step wrong or missing out something. Also, make sure the thickness of the paper is same as I have mentioned in the video.

The pop-up she's showing for this card is using an easier popup mechanisms than I've seen in other tutorials gives the same result actually a simplified version
