SSFR was dispatched in the morning hours for a reported vehicle fire. Medic 1 and Rescue 117 made the response. PCFD also responded as automatic aid. Response view is from Medic 1, and smoke can be seen in the distance during the response. Units arrived to find a small passenger car fully engulfed in flames. Initial fire attack was delayed briefly due to a malfunction with the foam nozzle on the pre-connect. The nozzle was quickly replaced with a spare, and the fire was extinguished using 300gl of water. No injures were reported on scene.

SSFR is a combination department in East Alabama running with a 24/7 paid EMS crew, and a paid Fire Officer Monday - Friday during business hours with volunteer firefighters completing staffing during all hours of the day and night. SSFR runs approximately 2800 emergency calls annually.
