SSX 2012 Finally works on PC! (Via Rpcs3)

I've been trying to get this running on rpcs3 for years now, and finally got it running very well! Frame rate seems very solid with only minor visual glitches, fog rendering is still pretty broken.
I was only able to get the disc version working which has the serial number: BLUS30849. I was not able to get the PSN Digital version to run well.
I was able to install the 1.03 update, and both DLCs: Mount Eddie, and the Character Pack without issue.

I also enabled the 720p ssx patch in the rpcs3 patch menu.
my pc specs are:
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x
GPU: RTX 2060
RAM: 32gb 2666mhz
Drive: 2tb Pioneer NVME SSD

Some more info and answers to comments: - This is the ps3 version of the game running via the emulator rpcs3. There is no native pc port. - It seems you need a very powerful cpu to run this game, it will not perform well on lower end or older cpus. - Sadly the steam deck is not powerful enough to run it. - You can unlock the framerate to 60fps by setting the Vblank rate to 120 in game settings in rpcs3. Currently I wouldn't recommend doing this though as the game will rarely hit 60 and the framerate changes constantly. - If you need help getting rpcs3 setup I recommend the quick start guide on their website. Or follow one of the many tutorial videos on youtube. - I will not link to any game files. Use google they are not hard to find.

Damn bro, I just want a way to play this game again. I was hoping the digital title was working because nobody has it anywhere and it's not available on any cloud gaming services. Why is everyone playing ssx so dirty? It's literally the best snowboarding game out there.

If you don't want to emulate it there is another option. It's available via backwards compatibility on xbox one and Xbox series consoles. Sadly that's the only option other than emulation to get it running on modern stuff.

been tryin to get on pc for so long. only reason i hit the 3 sometimes cos of this game. does it crash at any points? benchmarks?

i have the update dlc and the pkg files associated with all the dlc's. everything shows up except mt. eddie. not sure why.

I found there are 2 different versions of the dlc. One called eddie and more and one called mt Eddie pack. Eddie and more only includes characters, but not the mountain. Be sure to get the correct one.

Yoo lesgoooo If I faced against you I'll be clapped every time. Childhood memories of an earlier SSX game aka SSX Tricky... Used to play the shit out of it on coin-operated PS2s.

OKay I dont have the disc version DLd correctly. Im trying to do it but can't figure stuff out. I have the game physical game, 2 copies even and they dont run on my PS3 anymore which is why Im trying to run them here. but I dont have a bluray burner. cant figure out the Dcryption stuff

works well, already beaten it, but my dlc (eddies mountain- didnt work) Do you got the dlc to work? Ive got eddie but eddies mountain is missing played it before on 360

You need the disc versions for the dlcs to work BLUS*** or BLES*** The NPUB and NPEB wich stands for playstation store versions/packages , doeant suport the dlcs for the game unfortunately !!! I sugest you to try xenia thow anyway , game is locked 60 fps all the time no matter what , music syncs and works flawlessly , collors and shadows are 1000%corect , you can also upscale to 4k with fidelityfx super resolution and aply antialising , and the dlcs works as inntended althow its a bit "tricky" pun intentended 😅😅 to get the dlcs to work !!! But o prefer xenia for ssx over rpcs3 all day long !!! Only downside in xenia is that the game might crash after like 2hrs of gameplay more if your lucky and have strong graphics card

Im having audio cracking issues with infamous . That’s the only game I had audio issues with. Rdr skips like hell as well as saints row 2 .

What kind of performance can I expect with a 7800x3d and 4090? 60fps? Ultrawide support by chance? Thanks!

You might be able to hit 60fps but I'm not sure. My pc currently has a ryzen 5800x and a rtx 3070 and the game still drops below 30 pretty often. Unlocking fps results in it varying wildly. Honestly I would say just try it and see what fps you can hit. I also don't think it would have ultrawide support as it's a ps3 game, but it's possible. I don't have an ultrawide display to test.

It's not available for pc. I'm running the ps3 version of the game via the emulator rpcs3.

Update: I was able to unlock the framerate to run at up to 60fps by opening the config file in notepad and changing the line: Vblank Rate: 60 to say: Vblank Rate: 120 framerate isnt consistent though and runs between 30 and 60, so for now its probably a better idea to leave it at 30 for consistency, unless you have a VRR display.

@@Raenael_Kazama set up a custom game config for ssx then you can chnge it under the advanced tab. Vblank frequency in the bottom right of the menu.

Steam deck could probably run the android version I just know when I had it on my phone I was unable to map the controls to a controller. Edit: it could probably run it of it's ported to the vita then emulated.

So a few months ago I tried android emulation on the steam deck and it wasn't a very good experience. Because the steam deck runs linux there is only 1 emulator that works, and it's not very good. Can't run Nox Player or Bluestacks without installing windows on the steam deck. I'm hoping the rpcs3 continues to improve and eventually ssx runs better so the steam deck could run it. Last time I tried ssx via rpcs3 on steam deck the frame rate was a slideshow.

How about your CPU? On emulation, specifically more so on rpcs3, your cpu determines the performance and your gpu determines how far you can upscale.

Yeah I found cpu is much more of a limiting factor in this game than gpu.

The game never released on pc so a cracked version really isn't a thing. Needs to be emulated to play on pc. I'm emulating the ps3 version of the game.

I have a Intel Core i7 7700K but is so slow, even I have tried your settings and different ones, and runs so bad

Probably not a powerful enough or not new enough cpu is my only guess. From my testing on a few different machines only my pc with a ryzen 5800x could actually run it with good performance.

White glow is everywhere , after one track , the rest are barealy reaching 15 - 25 fps max , finaly playable??? Not even working with 60 fps patch , still performance drops massively after 15 mins of gameplay 😂😂

I forgot how bad this game was lol. Decided to try it on RPCS3 and oh boy it's trash. It's like they took the heart and soul of the previous games and stomped on it hard. It's like they sterilized all the characters into homogenous bores. It has zero personality and style. No wonder it bombed so hard.
