Another solid review. I have the 7'3" Victory spinning and it is starting to split near the tip, almost like the back cast caused it. Was considering upgrading to the LTB when I send it in. I also held one of the new Expride B's and pretty sure that is the next rod I will be buying.

I have this rod (7’1”MF) and the 7’3”MXF. The 7’3” XF has a noticeably softer tip section and noticeably stiffer backbone. They are both very well balanced with a 4000 Tatula LT, the balance point is up on the cork. I like to fish jerk baits on spinning rods and the 7’1” casts a Vision 110 a mile and has the right bend for trebles. Love it for this. Great rods. Try the new Expride B 7’ Light for Drop Shots and Ned’s, it’s a gem….should be rated ML.

Hi , thank you for review !! I have the 6.8 foot medium x fast in walleye serie it's weight 103g = 3.63 oz with just 2 g more than the Legend Elite in the same size and action , I am very impresed with the quality and the castability of this rod.

Great review ! I have that rod and really like it for a lot of things and mine is the incorrect spelling lol. I also have a 7’ MLF in the walleye series and it’s and amazing drop shot rod IMO. I’ve owned everything from the Triumph line to the Legend Elites but really like the Legend Tournament line so far. Can’t remember if you reviewed the Megabass Levante spinning rods but I have 2 and they’re awesome too.

If you're fishing from a boat, I would highly recommend their 6'6 medium fast legend tournament walleye rod. It's much stiffer than the whimpier longer rods they make. Feels like a Gloomis bass rod and at least on par with an IMX in quality. Fantastic caster for its size. I easily get 25-30 yards on it using a 3/16 jig head and a 4 inch plastic. Firm, locks up the top 1/3rd of the rod and highly sensitive.

Good review! As far as the Victory spinning rods I am getting ready to send back my 5th broken tip rod, they do replace them but it's getting old. I picked up a couple of the Legend Tournament Bass casting this winter but have not used them yet, but just in hand they feel like the Victory line like you mentioned but are a lot nicer looking. They offer an upgrade, I am going to try upgrading to the Legend 7'1''. Keep up the good videos' I enjoy your work!

I love the softer tip blending into a stiffer midsection. I have orrochi and 2 expride. I like this rod as much but for different reasons. The light tip casts a lighter bait and feels it well but the stiffer mid allows you to lay some wood when needed.

I had no complaints one the older version medium 7ft, I’ve used all sorts of bait on it and put more weight then recommended probably close to 1 3/4 oz. Landed some 5-7 school or striped bass and some nice cat fish 10lb along with a few smaller pike 5-7lb range.

Was waiting for this one for ages. I was using an old LTB 7'1 Medium/Fast casting for senko's and free-rigs, but the balance drove me nuts, so I got impatient and sold it off and just went out and got an Orochi XX Shakyhead. How do these compare to the Orochi? From the sounds of it I don't think I made a mistake.

Hey, Punch - I’ve been a sub to your channel for a hot minute, and was wondering if you would do a review on the St. Croix Legend Extreme casting rod? That has to be the sexiest rod of all time! For a rod to be $700…how does it fish? I enjoy your videos simply for the high-end price gear reviews. My max price point for rods is $250 so most of the rods you review are way over my budget.

Ah man, I went through 3 Victory rods before I upgraded to the LTB equivalent. Own 2 of them now and won't look back. Have the Pinpoint (swimbaits, texas rigs, shakey heads, jerkbaits) spinning and the Dropshot Finesse XL (smaller swimbaits, shakey heads, ned rigs, drop shots) spinning rods. Going to get the Warhorse (jigs and lipless) casting rod this season hopefully. Imo the LTB is leaps and bounds above the Victory series. My Victory was not nearly as sensitive as cheaper rods. The LTB sensitivity is exponentially better.

Since you do a lot of St Croix stuff... A local dealer is doing sale on Legend Elite and Legend X... Is one rod better than the other? And the difference. Want a casting rod for weightless senko, fluke, etc. So not sure whether to get Med XF or MH F? Leaning towards the Legend X just by looks but have no experience with either.

Any thoughts on a good neko rig rod? 872 nrx i know has been talked about but seems too stiff what i know since you need a little whip to get launch for distance? Windbuster, Baby Plugging, 852 nrx? Though I like the thought of a longer rod for more leverage. Lost a lot of fish on a necko with my Expride 7 med spinning.

@@PunchFishing Thanks! I saw that on your 22' spinning lineup. Saw a Hookup tackle video they couldn't get distance too well more with moving baits. I do pretty well in OH with the largemouth in spring early summer on a neko and finesse worms. Using 7 M Expride I had a lot jump off. Lost some nice ones. Thought that rod might be too soft though it slings lighter weights well with 10# braid. Tried different hooks but same results.

@zveryok1 Ай бұрын
Don't own an expride but I do own a bunch of legend tournament walleye rods which use the same components and blanks. GLoomis IMX closely compares to legend tournament. Gloomis GLX is higher tier, is more sensitive and much lighter in hand. This translates to it being balanced with a significantly lighter reel. For example, my legend walleye that's 6'6 medium needs 9 oz to balance perfectly. My 7'1 GLX needs 7.5-8. After a day of fishing, this makes a big difference.

I’ve never broken a rod in my life while fishing. Grew up using cheap ugly sticks. Beat the crap out of them and they are still alive and kicking. My 3 month old Victory snapped above the handle while getting stuck in a little grass. It then continued to break into 4 or 5 pieces. I’m sure this was due to the integrity being compromised. It however was still super weird. After looking into this online some, there are quite a few people experiencing this same issue. I will say St. Croix’s customer service and warranty was fantastic. I took advantage of the opportunity to upgrade and went with the Legend Tournament Bass. Hopefully this series doesn’t have the same problem 🤞.
