i also attended st gregory's church as a young child, going with my grandparents. Attendance has gone down some but it is still a beautiful church and i will remember it always. whenever i go back to homestead, i try to go to church. in fact, i would help bake cookies with my aunt and her ladt friends in the basement o f th echurch. What wonderful baked cookies they were and what a wonderful group of ladies. karen proch rossetti

Oh how I miss church. In a few months when I have my license I'm going to return. However my church needs some prayers. My church, St Nicholas in Norwich Connecticut is struggling. Struggling financially and member wise. Right now it is definite that the church will close. Maybe not for a couple of years but it is pretty definite. It has been around since the early 1900s. We have not been able to keep a priest for very long either. I ask from my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for my parish. It means so much to me. I have family history to when it was formed and it was where I was baptized.

I went to that church when I was a kid. Not many people go anymore and it's very sad. My mother and dad still go.

I was thinking of attending St. Gregory, do you go there often? Their website says Father Shuga has retired.

I feel like many churches are having the same struggles:( my church, St Nicholas in Norwich Connecticut is struggling deeply. There has not been a consistent priest in at least 10 years. Not nearly as many people attend it anymore. One of my relatives that came from Russia helped with the building of the church back before the 1920s and was one of the founders. In a little less than a year when I get my license I plan on attending my church once again!
