There is such a thing as learning from mistakes. Portland wanted to defund police... Maybe trying for reform FIRST before resorting to community college activist policies would have been more reasonable and less reactionary. You never know, maybe they are learning from this. Many of us have had to learn the hard way. Sometimes there's just no other way.

Saint Johns was once it’s own city. Maybe their tax dollars would be better spent providing more reliable and accountable services to its residents. Portland and Multnomah County have dropped the ball.

1988 crime was getting bad in st John's. Worse than you have. Portland police department brought in cops on horseback and cross country motorcycle bikes. Cops where built like 6 foot body builder's. They where white and black. But all where over 6 feet tall and fit. That cleaned house of st John's.

As a whole you could compare the criminals and homeless to Mexican drug cartels who would come into villages and terrorize the people. The solution in some areas of Mexico was for the villagers to form their own ARMED police militias.
