The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre was the darkest day in Mob history. On February 14th, 1929, assassins lined up seven men against the wall of a garage in Chicago and opened fire with Thompson submachine guns. News of the Massacre sparked a national outcry to take down the Mob and put an end to Prohibition, which was fueling gang violence across the country.
The bricks from that garage wall, as well as the ballistic evidence collected from the crime scene, are on permanent display in The Mob Museum. The Tommy guns used in the shooting are held by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department in southwest Michigan. On several occasions over the years, the sheriff’s department has brought the Tommy guns to the Museum for temporary display, creating a grim reunion of artifacts from that fateful day.

As someone who grew up and lived it Berrrien County I can say the Sheriff dept is probably the most pompous in the entire state.

Supposedly not all of the bricks from the North Clark Street Garage (a.k.a., the SM Cartage Company) wall from the infamous St. Valentine's Day Massacre are in the Mob Museum. Supposedly, some of the bricks were auctioned off individually prior to the creation of the museum.

Unfortunately, the evidence was in the hands of the police. We now know that the police would suppress evidence or falsify evidence so innocent people were often wrongly imprisoned!

I thought the bricks were available to purchase individually 1999 to 2002. I There was a web site to buy them from the owner for around $300/$400 a brick. So they don't have the complete wall of bricks

Kind of ironic when you think about it that the cops back then was so poor they could not afford the Tommy Guns but the mobsters could. That's what bling bling does.
