The all new 2250 Ultra Centrecab was inducted into our brand the only way we know how. Rough water testing in the ‘Roaring Forties’ of New Zealand’s most Southern Coastline. Only 90km from the Stabicraft factory floor, this is our backyard. 🌊⚓
We sent a crew on-board two 2250 Ultra Centrecabs across the rugged Foveaux Strait and into the depths of the 47th parallel. It is here at 47 degrees South of the equator you will find the infamous ‘Roaring Forties’, a name given to the Strong westerly winds and BIG seas found between the latitudes 40 and 50 degrees South.

I have been a gamer for my whole life, and just watching this sort of stuff over the last few years I have become more and more depressed with myself for not having done more. I no longer dream of new games but of my 2 biggest dreams ever in my life, owning a jeep overland rig and this boat. Gotten into fishing more, still saving to get into camping more, trying to work on myself and my own health slowly, all towards these goals and in the future a healthy fun and adventurous family. I have never seen something have so much practicality, versatility and just down right be the most beautiful 3 day adventure ever with friends. Stabicraft, I just want to say, you don't build boats, you build dreams. Hope one day I hope I can partake in the adventure.

Always wanted the 2750 and was willing to continue my 7 days a week of working to make it happen one day but now that this (2250) is out and it’s nearly half the price, I may get one sooner than I thought.

Bloody awesome guys. Thats what makes little ole NZ the best. Good to see the boats powering through that rough water with ease too. Still dribbling from watching you guys eating all that good fresh tucker. The best. Hey, great video demonstrating the functional aspects of the Stabicraft. I have been across the Foveux Strait to Oban on a mate’s 7m stern drive trailer boat on a calm sea day. Am interested in Stabicraft....just wondering whether you would have gone along the southern (more exposed to open sea and its big waves) parts of Stewart Island if you weren’t travelling as a pair of boats. I would worry about capsizing....would you trust Stabicraft to handle those big waves when you have little chance of rescue (either from Oban or Bluff Rescue on mainland) if your boat tipped?

All I was thinking while viewing the footage in the rough seas was what would happen if motor failed so close to those rocks? I wouldn't feel confident without twins in those conditions. Guys have brass balls, kudos to them for living life to the fullest.

Its all for show, they have a crew right there, this is a Stabi add. No one in their right mind would take their boats and launch them off 8 foot waves. Notice how they are all standing so they dont swallow their teeth.

Go check the engine makes stabi only make the hull engines have nothing to do with them but I know they do really well on fuel

Probably some of the best rough water real conditions footage ive ever seen in a 22 footer fellas . I would love one of these but at 245k aud is a fairly ridiculous price . Lets hope price of materials come down i the future .

Great vid. Just a note. Try and balance out the volume of the boys talking and the music. You have to turn it up to hear what they are saying then your ears get blasted when the music comes in.

These things would kill in Hawaiian water built for big southern ocean water so they can handle nasty shit that the Pacific can throw at you... and I don't know why you guys wouldn't run anything but alloy boat everything else is to weak for nz weather when it turns and get bsd
