Around this time of year the stable flies ruthlessly swarm and bite. My husband and I learned this while hiking to a lighthouse on Lake Superior and were also greeted with literal clouds of mosquito's. Best time to visit is the first week of October. Fewer tourists and far fewer bugs. The Pictured Rocks and/or the Shipwreck Tours on Lake Superior are worth it as are the hikes to the multiple natural waterfalls.

Our yearly RV Trip for a month is always after Labor Day Holidays in Northern MI and the Upper Pennisula. This year will be the Lake Superior Tour... Usually the last two weeks of September and first two weeks in October. Less people; no screaming kids; lower RV full hookup nightly rates; cooler nights; most bugs are gone for the season especially after a freeze.

Took my brother out fishing,we were at least a mile out and he rolled up his pant legs, I said I wouldn't do that if I were you, why not, ankle biters, what the hell are ankle biters, you'll find out, minute later, ouch what the hell, pretty soon the boat was filled with the little bastards.

Get pyrethrin fly spray for horses. It's the only thing that will knock them down. Do not get it into the water as it will kill fish. Works on the bugs nervous systems and slows them up so you can swat the crap out of them. Will not stop ticks. Next best weapon is the Bug a Salt!

Climate has always changed and nothing will stop it. Governments can control the weather, look up HAARP. They get people like you to believe that if they tax you more, control what you do, drive a certain vehicle they can straighten things out. It's all about the GREEN they put into their pockets and nothing else.
