Unless your in his bedroom. You don't know S**T. So, cut it out. You just wanna spread rumors about something, you know absolutely nothing about. How sad of a person you are 😢

This is how things get distorted. Johnny Gill never said Stacy or her Mom was racist. He stated in interviews that management personnel told him that her mother didn’t like the fact that he was dark skin. Now she may not have said or thought that but the point is Johnny never accused Stacy of anything and on this interview the host continued to push the false narrative.

No Sir/ma'am, he's since switched the story and brought clarity for many reasons... perhaps with the potential for a deformation lawsuit, and her outing him, being the two main reasons. But his original story *(in past interviews that I've seen),* was that he personally witnessed this coming from her family. Not only that, but in the NE story, the narrative was that this was the case as well. For whatever reason, he's switched it up in his most recent interviews.

@@dmvbay2535 Calm down killa... Lol. Not so much flip flopping, but he definitely flipped. He's being consistent in his flip, much in the same way he was consistent before the flip. I definitely think that he believed his assessment of the situation was true. And I'm sure his own insecurities made it easy to believe. But sometimes ideals that we form when we're young and dumb cement until someone pushes back on that narrative. I think Stacy offered the pushback that caused him to rethink their situation. In other words, this seems like a misunderstanding and not a blatant lie.

Stacy is lying. I remember years ago Stacy did an interview, Where "she" said (Her Mother) was a colorist and hated being around dark skin people (Even though Stacy's mother is black herself). Her mother didn't want Jonny singing with Stacy because she felt (Jonny) being very dark skin would hurt Stacy's career. Look up the interview... That's what Stacy said. Now, years later Stacy is changing the story. Colorism and Racism are two totally different things.

I met New Edition twice, both times Bobby and Ralph were the most down to Earth guys and literally talked with my buddies and me for half an hour. Ron shucked my hand and greeted people whereas Mike, Johnny and Ricky appeared a bit hierarchical; now I’m not saying they owed us anything, especially after a show, however, if my band mates are greeting and meeting I think I would do so as well. Nevertheless, they put on the best performance ever.

Well it depends on how they were feeling when you met them. I don’t think that says anything about who they are. You just so happen to catch them at a different time. It could’ve been the opposite. That was then and waaaay back in the day. Plus, I only heard it by mouth but there was a lot of evidence. I know both Creole and Cajuns and they were all nice to me (though I don't know what they said behind my back if anything at all). People act like colorism only happens to dark skinned people. Everyone on my mother's side of the family are dark skinned and they treated me badly growing up. On my father's side, there is a mix of brown, light, and dark skin. I never had any issues with my dad's side, but my mom's side definitely. It works both ways.

Kudo's for keeping her mouth shut about it. They want to hear that he is gay, or a cheater and so on. At the end of the day, she is not racist and that is all you need to know about it.

Perhaps she just wasn't in love with him in that way...That is very possible..They had been good friends for so long and they really know alot about each other....Maybe She just wanted to have the great friendship they share and not a romance.. People just thought that colorism must have played a part in their breakup..Because she was very light and he was dark skinned. It's good that she had her say on the matter.. She has been happily married for a long time..

Truly, neither one of them, owe us, anything. Yes, colorism, existed/exists. Bobby Brown stated the same about Janet and her father. We all see/know, Janet was with Jermaine, almost a decade. Was willing/waiting, to marry and bare his children. I am a proud, chocolate woman and I experience colorism, more, than racism, EVERYday. It's a taboo subject within our communities because we have no 'reason'/'season', for it, we simply, quiet as kept, loathe, ourselves.

Interesting …. In his interview on DJ Vlad I just watched but it just came out around 10-8-2023, he claims that he has taken the position that her and her family never made any such comments or issues but the other folks like I guess industry executives, Henry Allen, etc were making comments… to paraphrase “” one thing I’ve said, that I stand on, even to this day, that she never, her family or mom never said or ….had any indication that he was too dark etc etc “ So maybe he’s trying damage control …

Over everything, the biopic didnt have to mention it at all, they were looking to create a storyline of Johnny Gill in the New Edition group, but they should have given us a different story, NOT HIM AND HIS CONNECTION WITH STACY LATTISAW. Writers could have completely and undeniably avoided, and they could have mentioned more about why Johnny Gill even became a candidate for New Edition as far as his prior music career, and they could have even focused on his welcoming to MCA records, that would have been a better storyline and it would have avoided ALL OF THIS REGARDING STACY LATTISAW. In other words, they really, honestly should have kept Stacy Lattisaw name out their mouth. She does deserve for that to be legally amended with recourse.

@@t.d.8829 The same one you think you did. I rewatched the movie when I commented and in the scene when he was asked by Ralph what happened, he basically gave a response that implied (without words) that he was unsure of what happened, but he thinks it had something to do with his skin color. That's NOT an accusation, that's someone stating their experience. What kind of world is it where someone's actual experience should be invalidated because someone says they didn't like how they referred to it. There were no words stated in that scene that said for certain that they weren't together because of his skin tone. I think you should rewatch it.

Stacy was accused of being the worst kind of racist, against her own race. She took the high road and decided to remain silent about the reason for the break up. It's not something that I would do because that racist allegation is serious so I would have revealed the real reason for the break up. Maybe she is saving it to include in a possible tell all book deal.
