The cops did their job capturing him. But it will likely be two years before he is convicted so escapes are always possible (happens a lot in small town or rural county jails) If he gets the death penalty that won't likely happen for 20-30 years and by then many of the elder relatives of the victims won't be around by then. Nobody wins after crimes like this have been committed.
