Sonic Advance 3 really felt like the end of an era. It was obviously the last game of the series, the last game to feature the Adventure voice cast before 4kids took over due to the unfortunate passing of Deem Bristow as Eggman after the release of this game, and lastly the game ends on such a good note with the characters finally being able to see Emerl/Gmerl again which feels like a great conclusion to not just this game but Sonic Battle’s story as well. After coming back and finishing this game for the first time I can definitely confirm that this game is probably my favorite 2D Sonic game.

As someone said before: This isn't just the end to the advance series. It's the end to the dreamcast era

this trilogy deserves to be remembered.

Man, this song is so heartwarming! Not only do we get to see Emerl again, in a new form, but we also get a nice sendoff to the difficult, but entertaining Advance series. I feel that Rush represents Advance 4 in spirit, with the similar sprites and mechanics. Goodbye, Advance. You were a neat game series to play! See you soon.

(This is where I’d write about how great this song is and how it gives off that goodbye feel to the Sonic Advance series, but instead. I shall just smile so that I don’t mess up the comment section trend) :)

It’s honestly heartwarming to see that in a way, the Sonic cast really did get to see Emerl again since G-Merl was made by Eggman in his physical likeness while Tails reprogrammed him in his mental likeness. This true ending really gives a happy ending to the sad Sonic Battle ending. G-Merl really needs to make a return in the Sonic franchise. We haven’t seen much of the Emerl in him.

Sad that this franchise went through shit after Advance 3, atleast there were good games such as the Sonic Rush series who continued the formula, and we cannot forget about Sonic Riders and Sonic Unleashed too.
