Rip everyone here thinking that this would heal them from Good Omens 2 only for a very similar ending (down to David and Michael both staring at the camera in silence in separate panels) to come at them with a steel chair 😭 And if you showed up with Doctor Who feels, you also get David desperately holding on and doing everything he can to stall the ending and change, sort of like Ten 🙃

I can’t do this. What am I supposed to do now? Ok I understand that it is a written series, but WHY am I seeing another separation between david and michael???? 😭 After watching Good Omens 2 I have desperately searched for every movie and series involving Michael and David, I felt I still needed them and having the chance to see this wonder of the show made me very happy BUT watching the ending with Michael asking for a break now i feel like i'm back in that final episode of good omens.......they should be together FOREVER. This couple is perfect, in everything, in fiction and in reality, they are in total symbiosis and should do much more together! THANK YOU SO MUCH for uploading all seasons of Staged!!!!

I think that's part of the point too, that they are great together and you get to cherish the good stuff and still be sad about the bad stuff, even if it's ended. But ya, I'm doing the same, because of David I'm gonna try to get back on the Doctor Who train, Good luck!!

Is it weird that I actually liked the ending? 😅 It is so bittersweet and relatable. I really feel for David not wanting things to change and having a hard time letting go, I feel like that often in my own life. What made it sweet was Michael's "We'll be okay" :) It is a gentle reminder that change is scary, but at times it's necessary and, even though it might not feel like it at first, it can be a change for the better. Maybe it is also a message to us, the fans. It's okay if David and Michael don't give us content together all the time, they'll still love each other and are friends even if we don't see it publicly. Demanding them to do more and more and more together is not good and we should cherish what we do get of them by their own choice :)

As I’m reading the comments im wondering if y’all saw what I saw. Maybe it’s just collective brain rot but this is a good ending for everyone. We Yes it’s sad but all endings are sad. Staged has been a nightmare for the the “characters” and they need out. The pandemic is over, this part of their lives is over and it’s time to start anew. When Micheal says ‘take a break’ he means as business partners. I love my friends but if I had to work with them in a highly stressful environment we would explode. This is them in the next stage of their friendship. This is not Azi leaving Crowley behind, it’s Micheal reaching out a hand to help David move on. This show incentivizes conflict, that’s why episode four is the way it is. It’s funny to watch the boys fall apart, but it isn’t good for them. The reason Micheal seems like an angry person is because the show itself is frustrating. Their relationship needs to heal. They should be around each other because the want to be, not because they’re obligated to be. That is what the “We’ll be okay” is about. Without the show they can have a more stable relationship. That shot is them sitting in that last moment, Micheal gives David space to grieve what was. Then the show ends and they get up and move on with their lives, but not without each other.

Yes. But also isn't it about all of us, collectively, putting behind us the Covid experience, taking a breath, looking around, having a cry. Saying goodbye maybe, grieving. And also we're sad because we're kind of addicted to the two of them and their beautiful dynamic and so selfishly there's a part of us where we do want them to just keep coming back and do it. Or maybe that's just me ☺️

God this is just what I needed. The last few years have been so long, and I too have felt like I don't want things to change only to be FORCED to deal with so much change this year. Like change stomped up to my door and has been banging away for ages while I just hide in the closet. God I cried at the resolution - and have laughed through the entire 3rd series even as it cut deep into my reality. Now can can they start a new show about being evil geniuses competing to be the most evil, and maybe do a 'net series about being the two dads of a crazy famous popular superstar kid whom everyone actually hates and they're desperately trying to hide reality because he's the only person in the family who can keep a job and maybe grandpa Michael McKean is constantly sneaking off and getting into trouble on the side? And they can join the Sandman 'verse somehow, and also the MCU to bring back David's deliciously evil Kilgrave and Michael can be some OTHER wonderfully evil character and then they face off against Loki and Strange and whoever Henry Cavill ends up playing?

This was filmed after good omens so I think it’s the other way around but there’s no way it wasn’t a nod with how the ending shot is near identical

Like, thematically - separation/break up - Staged stole from Good Omens, as the latter was filmed earlier and David and Michael could discuss it with Simon to make a call back. But then Staged 3 came out when GO2 was in the process of editing etc, so Neil could decide to make a call back to Staged with the split screen/music in the end. It's a circle. Crowley eating their own tail (not to be graphic).
