my mom almost died from severe sepsis and septic shock she was completely fine the night before but then she got dizzy and had low blood pressure spots in her vision then we went to sleep and I found her unresponsive she fought like hell for 2 weeks and survived I hope your mother is doing well

@@exceldivine thank you and wow, that must have been such a horrible shock. i’m so glad to hear your mom survived 🙏🏻 the sudden deterioration happened with my mum too. in the early afternoon, (when i left the house,) she had what she thought was a little bit of constipation and then by early evening, (when i arrived back home,) she was in laid bed, unable to move with the pain and she was so pale... even her lips had no colour. my mum thankfully (after 2 months fighting) pulled through, even though the doctors said she most likely wouldn’t 🙏🏻 it’s been over 4 months since all this started for her and she still can’t walk very far and her hair kept falling out. how’s your mom doing since everything?

Key Wizard my niece is in ICU. Doctors didn't say it's sepsis but after she had a hysterectomy the doctor sew up one of her intestine. She got an infection 2 days later and they had to open her again to clean dead tissue. But now her kidney, lungs and her heart stopped working for a bit. She also had s seizure. It looks bad so I am nervous. She was healthy when went in for surgery.

@@RNKid Hello, I've been diagnosed with folliculitis since 2013 caused by staphylococcus infection. I also had furnacles & fear that I may have Sepsis. I heard that this is a uncurable deadly disease & I'm afraid to die from this. I don't know what to do.

I just lost my mom 1/6/22 to septic shock. She was sent to a rehabilitation center from the hospital. She was healing at the hospital after a debridement procedure. When the center called 911 and had her sent back to the hospital they told us her wound had gotten so bad her pelvic bone was exposed. 😭😭😭😭

what about portable blood cleaners developed to treat sepsis? MIT 2015. I had sepsis. after IV antibiotics I went into shock and spent 3 days in the ICU. vasso-suppressants fluid therapy. My BP was a little low until my blood filled w/ sludge from antibiotics. Apparently the blood cleaner machines offer a 24 cure. So what's going on?

So sorry for your loss. I hope you don't mind my asking, but was the bowel obstruction noticeable immediately? His blood pressure would have dropped indicating sepsis. Did they do a blood culture to check for sepsis? Did they put him on an antibiotic immediately? There doesn't seem to be a mandatory early protocol to check for sepsis; there should be one; they should prove that the patient doesn't have sepsis and work from that point; it would save lives and prevent the amputations of limbs that are rife because of undiagnosed or late-diagnosed sepsis.

Yep. I fought like an animal in the ER. I barely remember a y of it. I had metabolic encephalopathy from it too. I was on a ventilator for a week even though my lungs were ok after 2 days, because my brainstem didn't have a swallow or gag reflex thanks to the sepsis. I was delusional and hallucinating and tied to the bed for about a week after I came off the vent. Glad you're ok :)

I'm sorry for ur loss...in case u were wondering Vitamin C combined with Corticosteroids and Niacin cures Sepsis, period....but the medical authorities are not allowing patients to receive that therapy in many places presumably including the one u went to...Dr Marik uses that therapy for Sepsis many many times successfully...a short interview statement follows: Dr. Marik: This dates back to January of 2016. I was presented with a 53 year old previously healthy female who had acute cholecystitis and overwhelming septic shock with acute respiratory, cardiac, metabolic and kidney failure who appeared almost certain to be destined to die. In a situation like this one has to think out-side of the box and pull out all the stops. I was aware of the experimental data on the use of vitamin C for sepsis as well as Dr. Fowler’s preliminary data and decided I would try a combination of Vitamin C and corticosteroids, on the presumption that they would act synergistically to reverse the patient’s dire situation. However, I did not expect her to survive and was dumb-founded the next day when I returned to work; she had been almost weaned off all vasopressors and her renal function had improved. She subsequently grew E.coli and Clostridia perfringens from her blood cultures. She was discharged from the ICU on day 4 with no residual organ dysfunction. I was completely amazed by the rapid reversal of what appeared to be a fatal disease. So I thought I had an obligation to try this again on our next patient with septic shock. This time we added intravenous thiamine to the mix … and the response was exactly the same as the first case. As all three agents are widely available and approved drugs which are devoid of side effects and extremely cheap - I felt I had an ethical obligation to continue to treat our patients with severe sepsis and septic shock with this cocktail. And indeed, the response was reproducible time over time over time. This led to us reporting our initial experience with this cocktail in a retrospective, before-after propensity adjusted study reported in Chest in June of 2017. We have to date treated over 850 patients with the same reproducible findings. In addition, hundreds of patients have been treated world-wide and this combination has become the standard of care in a number of hospital in the US and abroad. I hope that helped so that it never happens again to anyone that u love... ur friend, abracadabra

What is the survival rate?? I guess it depends on the individual. ..But just in general,the chances of survival once infected...They just put my mother in ICU lastnight bc of this...I was very scared for her,but after reading these comments,i am downright fucking terrified. ...😢😟
@RNKid5 жыл бұрын
As you mentioned, it depends on the person. Lots of different factors come into effect. Age is a big one. Older people struggle to fight infections. A big factor is how early it is caught. The earlier the better.

I am sorry for your loss. Sepsis is not so much an illness but a manifestation of an infection. I too have a lost family member who had gone septic. Sepsis can stem from anything from a bowel perforation, kidney infection, pneumonia, urinary tract infection and countless other ways. In my place of work we are on high alert for people who are becoming septic. If caught early, it can often be treated effectively with antibiotics. If not caught early, it is very hard to treat.
