I can hear fell out of bed when you said the price... Years and years ago, Rimmel did a mascara with this style of applicator - cost about £2! My Ma stole mind and she LOVED it - they're great if you have short crappy lashes. She was really bummed when they stopped making it and I don't fancy telling her she can get a posh option for £100+. Anyone brave enough?

Not the same this is almost 100 percent stainless steal and the mascara formula is designed to work with the stainless steal so it doesn't rust or ruin the wand...

You should have tried the stainless mascara on the other eye and a normal mascara on the other so we'll see what it has to offer more than normal mascaras

Honestly as expensive as it is, I still think it's a good concept! It helps with the hygienic aspect of mascaras! Rather than throwing mascaras away every 3 months or so as you're suppose to, you can just clean the wand, and replace the product bottle.

That is true, but in the end the little bottle of mascara is ridiculously expensive, even in comparison to some expensive mascaras that have a brush already in them. I know you don't have to use the hourglass mascara, but if you're using mascaras that come with wands why bother with this mega expensive, glorified screw?

if people want a cheaper alternative, I would get the minicara from innisfree which looks similar. it's not a screw but it has a really tiny lash wand so it gets really into the lashes which is good for people with short lashes. I don't think spending that much money on this mascara is worth it tbh

It's made out of almost 100% stainless steel and will last a long time since the mascara and wand are sold separately and since you can just wipe the wand right off!! The give you what your paying for but there is no perfectly 100 percent amazing mascara...everyone wants something else in a mascara so you can't please everyone...

This wand applies mascara wonderfully. Used one like it in late 70's. It was FABULOUS. No switching between products tho. No fibers then

Mine are natural so I can't really say how they're so long. You can always just wear fake lashes if you want to make yours look longer (most of my friends do)

Usually I agree with you but this mascara is really too expensive and the risult was not so great. The steel wand is a good thing in theory but I think it's not very hygienic even if you clean it up with alcohol. The Outrageous Curl Mascara by Sephora has a tiny applicator too and you can reach every single lash and it's so much more affordable than this.

However, for me I think it's great for makeup artists and I like the look on my lashes- this is just my opinion. I actually have made a lash growing serum and for me it worked over night (for some people it took a week or 2) its, half coconut oil, half olive oil and a few drops of lavender essential oil. I put it on my lashlime every night and have seen amazing results

DIY...I was shocked when my CD primer's brush came off the wand! But I used it anyway without the brush and it worked really well. I will have to try the bare wand with mascara now.

Deja Carter Asians tend to have short, really fine sparse lashes. As an Asian with similar lashes like Tina, I find that when I apply mascara it easily clumps because my lashes are so fine and short. And there's not enough surface area for the mascara to grab onto, therefore it ends up looking spidery and clumpy. As oppose to someone who has longer thicker lashes.

Seriously? I'm completly shocked by this review, the total for all those products was 150 dollars, how could you be impressed with a mascara that looks like that on your lashes? All i can see is clumps, it's seriously the most disgusting mascara i have ever seen. There are such great quality mascaras out there that are not even a third of the price of that one is, everyone can see that mascara just doesn't work well, not to mention the outrageous amount of effort and times you have to clean the wand just for one use. I just don't see how could you rave so much about a product that is clearly not worth the price.

It is definitely pricey but in the long run if you think about it, you'll never have to repurchase the applicator, only the actual mascara which you barely use any of and dries out slower since the applicator screws in. The design is very smart!!

.... just smash your mascara, put it in an old nail polish bottle which you have chopped the brush off, get a long, thin screw and put a handle on it, into the cauldron and *BAM* solved it.

You said that you have really short eyelashes- I did too, but my mom (after using one herself and getting amazing results) bought me the RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash serum that you apply to your lash line before bed and after already 3weeks you can see results! And after 2-3 months my eyelashes got significantly longer and thicker! On my mom (she's been using it for 6months now) it looks like she's got eyelashes applied at a salon! Tina, you should try it!

For Asia short eyelashes , suggested to try out Majolica Majorca Mascara - it really lengthen any short lashes and stay all day long!

I made my own applicator using, well, a screw. I felt like Crazy Russian Hacker/MacGyver. So DIY. Very ghetto. And yes- it totally worked 👌😀 I forgot to mention that there is a pic on my Instagram (AnnaKaize) where you can see that it doesn't look like an ordinary screw- it's just like a "thicker" version of the applicator, but it worked 😊

yeah but that is still not the same. the screw has one little bit that curls all the way down to the bottom but the applicator has a whole bunch of little bits that circle around the wand or whatever indivivdually

The screw I used doesn't look like an ordinary one. There is a pic on my Instagram (AnnaKaize) should you want to check it out. I found it in my husband's toolbox and I have no idea what it's for, but it looks like this applicator- just a bit bigger. 😊

Hi Tina. I can definitely see it lengthened your short lashes but is it really worth $78 plus more for the primer and mascara? With a short 3 month use of mascara, it is outrageously expensive. I'd rather buy drug store mascara that give the same results. Thanks for the video.

Asian eyelashes are different than everyone else. Our lashes are stiff and don’t curve normally. They are short, and thin. Cheap brand mascaras don’t work, and clump up even more, and droop downwards.

Why all these hate comments??? Its really food, Tina has reallyyyy tiny lashes but still you can see how good this "screw" is, it really made her lashes longer. For longer lashes I think it would apply beautifully, it would look gorgeous with no clumps. I didn't see really any clumps

About the applicator, that small metal wand just so you know Helena Rubinstein did that in 1950's....... Nothing new there. But I am glad someone re-introduced this exact shape, variations of it have popped up over the years I think Lancome did one but with bristles and so did mac.

Kind of reminds me of L'Oréal telescopic mascara. There's no brush. It also doesn't clump. Annd it's affordable. This product is hella gimicky.
