This is the first episode of an attempt at the Invictus achievement in Stalker Gamma. We will be playing as Duty, and attempting to survive what the Zone throws at us.
To make the run a bit more forgiving and the progression a bit faster, I have removed / modified the following standard mods:
-YACS disabled
-loot claim off
-environment set to spring grass and trees (it's just prettier)
-ammo and random items laying around slightly increased
-weapon and armor condition slightly increased for high level stalkers

The funniest thing about Stalker games is that if you have thousand of hours of gameplay in it you tend to watch every stalker video there is on youtube, this game is crack

Trip: 20 x Nemiroff Vodka can be traded for a Basic Toolkit at the same Trader. He just doesn't show it till you have 20+ of them.

I've played this game for about 200 hours now and have not realized you can just drag and drop parts onto guns to swap them out. This changes everything

free zoom is a mod already installed into gamma. bound to mouse 5 allows you to zoom in on iron sights and no weapon drawn. can be rebound to a new key. I have mine set to Lalt but you may want to use something different since you use it to crouch. good for scouting when you have no binoculars or scope.

Think it's always important to discuss Basic Tools are also obtainable for 20 red label Vodka at Yantar and a TOZ Quest from Hip in Rookie Village.

Tell me about it. Pseudogiants aren't even supposed to spawn in the southern regions. There were some high ranked stalkers at the chckpoint, and those drop much better condition guns. now I just have to find some 5.45 to work them

@@Chromanim One of my first times playing Anomaly I had a pseudogiant attacking the farm in Cordon. Pretty much set the bar for that playthrough.

The Remington was my first ever repaired weapon in Gamma. I love it.

I've had a pretty good start, Duty, went with the helmet, armour and a 1911. Found a kar98 with a 91% barrel and 99% bolt, the "Chimera hunter" shotgun with a 91% barrel, just need the hammer, had the other bits at home. On top of that I got my drug making kit and gunsmithing tools. Got real lucky with the stashes on my second round of doing everyone's missions. Dead happy with my progress as day 3 closes... Might save up for the NVGs from Agrogrom so I can do something at night.

That's insanely lucky. In my run, I've dropped my first Advanced Tools from a stash after ~80 stashes up to Army Warehouses and dozens of hours of playtime. On Easy. It's so ridiculous I wonder whether my game might be broken. CheekiBreeki got two Advanced Tools after 36 or so stashes - on Survivalist progression difficulty. Can't believe it.

I'll admit I haven't been counting my stashes. Only had 2 green ones so far. Still haven't found the parts for my Kar98 and chimera hunter. I think my luck has ran out, I've just got a lot of joints. *I didn't mean agrocrom I ment Yatar for the NVGs

auto looter which is Left Alt by default will auto loot and disassemble most things by default you can always edit the settings though. but really nice once you get used to it!! :D careful though it will disassemble things you may need for crafting later on! it will even pull good quality parts out of weapons and armor!

Thank for the tip, i have Alt set to low crouch, so i always forget about looter, will try and use it more often

@@Chromanim I tried rebinding it and it didn't like it but that was in 0.9 so maybe its better now crouch and alt being bound to the same key shouldn't matter just open to loot and press Lalt and bam its really nice especially starting out because you usually want all the mats to get a few components for weapons later on!

Changing the key bind didn't work at all for me the other day. Current patch. But that's such, such a nice feature. Tip: if you want to keep a weapon or material and don't want it to be disassembled or field strip the green components, you can just grab them first before pressing the auto loot button.

Vaulting mod is so good to, just don't try to climb thin things, it might kill you. ^^

I think they did a fix for that issue, but i'm not running the latest patches, only the initial 0.9.1. I don't want to update the game yet, since i'm scared it may mess with the settings causing me to lose the Invictus run. So i don't have the vaulting, or the new upgrade system (i can still use mechanics to upgrade stuff)

70kg carry weight at the start seems really generous for gamma

I think that's the default. I haven't changed any weight related settings. But out of those 70, usually about 35-40 early game is your gear / food / meds / mission packages, so you're not left with a lot for other loot

Have you ever tried the mod called Mags Redux? Just started a merc run with it and I love it, makes every fight more intense, because if you run out of ammo, you have to manually reload the mags. It would make an Ironman run hell though, but you should try it out on a normal run.

I have tried it in a normal run, but unfortunately it is not for me. While the realism is nice, for me, I find all it adds is more busywork and running away while reloading mags during combat

You know the stalker experience,brat. Mags redux makes you choose carefully your battles, and avoid spam bullets. Should be in vanilla imo... Cheers winter!

@@cresalp i'm glad you like playing like that, but i simply find it tedious. Also in the late game when you can carry enough mags, it's basically the same thing when it comes to how you pick combats, except you need to take time to refill bullets between

@@Chromanim yeah, in my late game i never have enough mags for monolith ( i don't add bullet damage) i've seen guys on YT killing a controller with 3 bullets or a quimera with 5... , i also play with low money , enough to eat, to me It HAS TO BE a difficult experience. Otherwise it's just ... Meh... Cheers, stalker...

I think i answered this in a different comment... my rig is pretty middle of the road. I run a Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 6700XT and 16 gigs of ram. There is some stuttering in the video, but i have not noticed it in the game (encoder overloads in some places)

How did you turn off Loot Claim? I cant find it anywhere in the mod settings or MO2.

The mod is called GAMMA NPC loot claim renade in MO. Just turn it off

how do you get gamma to run without stuttering every five seconds? is it just a monster rig? or is there a secret way.

There is some stuttering in more populated areas when combats happen across the map (ex: Jupiter) but my rig is pretty middle of the road. I run a Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 6700XT and 16 gigs of ram. There is some stuttering in the video, but i have not noticed it in the game. As for settings, I have not changed anything in the display settings since i installed GAMMA.

when you open the mod manager up there is a mod under Fixes that says turn on if you stutter may help also some people get better performance when running the game in borderless may wanna try that out

@@xdeathbyriflex8391 I second this. Used to have terrible stutters, after checking that particular mod the stutters became MUCH more bearable even if they didn't go away completely. My PC is a potato by today's standards.

with the recent update it also seems that when the sun shadows setting is set to medium it causes stuttering and performance issues

grass is also a big fps eater, i usually just crank it way down to save my computer from melting through the table

bbest medium headgear, solid weapon with 4 good parts, lots of other goodies for future crafting. This is indeed a grandiose start! but i dont get why you wasted 4 bullets on the pseudogiant. he could have bodied the last guy/ potentially be lured in further to kill the hangar guard as well.

well thats indeed a 5head move, the sooner you hit legend, the sooner you can roam with the boys. my current invictus was lucky, met 2 legend stalkers in army warhouses, and they actually agreed to be companions. Bros saved my ass 4 times so far.@@Chromanim

What is it with all the stuttering in the video? with that high FPS it must be a recording thing or?

Yeah, for some reason the encoder overloads when getting close to Zone transition points. I haven't been able to fix the issue completely, but it does get better in the next videos. The stutter is not noticeable in-game at all

How does he have max carry capacity? Cus it's integrated with the skill sistem and leveling sistem that gives you carrying capacity per level?

Carry capacity is affected by skills, but the skill increase is minimal, and you can also carry more than max, but at the cost of movement costing way more stamina. I don't remember if carry capacity was a thing in the other versions of the game, since i haven't played them in a long time

@Chromanim yeah I deactivated the skill sistem mod, I swear in 48 hours all I did was tweak with the settings I also had a miner installed on my pc idk from where tf, it kept pushing my cpu to the moon every launch of the game , pain in the ass this game, no wonder the discord is a mess with all the new players

My guy dont even try selling that 85 damn rounds on a lowtier bandit as luck. I play naked renegade, I know the quality ranges by heart. There is no absolute way you get that much guns in such a good quality.

I have mentioned i slightly increased loot condition, just to make the run slightly faster, about 5-10% on low tier enemies, and a lot more on legendary ranks

I simply did it so i dont post 10 videos of just moving around doing missions farming and not advancing. Though i like that experience when i play solo, i don't think it makes for good content to view

@@Chromanimagreed. Like you said before, Gamma's already unforgiving enough. If you want to go thru a second time with "harder" settings then more power to ya but as with all single player games, play how you want. Awesome video dude! Caught your comment on Cheeki's post and y'all are making me want to start a run too. Such a fun game and playin with extra mods (esp Winter) I'd love to share the exp with others!

It gets better in later videos. This was my first vid ever after all, and i am learning as i go. I'm still working on some issues, as for the rest, i am also limited by hardware

Duty = farming not just Freedom but mostly Mercs. Mercs just have the best starting gear for mid to end game for you. But starting with items is easy bro... Just drop them and grind .😅

Maybe next time i'll do a naked start, but for now, invictus is hard enough even with good items
