I actually came by this guy today while flying through Pandaria and instantly recognized him. May you guys rest easy knowing he still logs on to worship the turtle-god 9 months after this video was released.

For those wondering about the turtle god: *Lon'li Guju is a ghostly flying turtle found on the northeastern shores of Kun-Lai Summit. He responds to friendly emotes, such as /love, /hug, /wave, etc.* Lon’li Guju is a special in-game memorial to Lonesome George, the last of his subspecies of tortoise, extinct as of June 24, 2012.

The funny thing is, he obviously made this journey before or how else would he know about the sharks and the magical wishing well! Wojo is love, Wojo is life.

the wishing well he went to with you and that coin you can throw in the water was a tribute put in the game for Brian Wicks who was a 16yr old wow gamer and went to blizzard through make-a-wish and with developers designed the well and its surroundings the "turtle god" is a tribute to lonesome george the last giant tortoise to exist. it died in 2012

I thought this was one of the most adorable gaming things I've ever seen. I'm just imagining this little kid having the time of his life just exploring WoW. It's like enjoying the game in its purest form, enjoying everything the developers wanted you to take a closer look at, instead of focusing on everything else.

I wasn't expecting much. But wow. This was a roller coaster from start to finish. Thumbs up.

....I literally just stumbled upon this, and at first I thought "...yeah, this is stupid". BOY was I wrong. I got so invested in Wojo and your quest for the secrets, and I may have choked on my drink from laughing at the amount of bugs that were about to attack him. Best. Video. Ever.

While the rest of us are battling gargantuan, world ending cosmic forces, a nascent drunk panda is in his ancestral homeland, earnestly exploring all the wonders that the Creators have given us. Blizzard needs to implement a real drunk Wojo escort quest. The fact his character was drunk while talking made it even more hilarious.

See *this is a quest* . Not fucking kill 30 of that enemy or talk to random npc number 2097451. He made it to the turtle god as a level 20 sneaking by giant enemies far stronger than himself. Making friends along his journey, that would help him. His story seemed like a legend for those mighty warriors that had never heard of the peaceful turtle god. Yet he did not hesitate to take on the journey again to guide these fools, so they would see the god with their own eyes.

Ok this right here is why I still play this game after all these years. PixelCat, this is one of the most hilarious WoW videos I’ve ever seen. “WHAT’S YOUR GAME, PANDA” xD And Wojo-you could’ve logged off or /ignored the guy but you played along without missing a beat. I’ve never had an RP toon (except all my Ironman attempts are on an RP server) but seeing Wojo ride around on his slow-ass turtle paying respect to shrines that I’ve never given a second thought to was pretty freaking endearing. Thanks to you both for the excellent video.

You know, all jokes aside, Wojo was probably some lonely guy in real life who didn't have anything better to do with his free time besides log onto a trial account and emote at random shrines. My face was lit up this entire video thinking about how you probably made his day by interacting with him for an hour or so in a way that he clearly enjoyed. Kudos to you man.

Wojo is the hero we need, but we dont deserve.

This shit pushes gaming to untold heights. First off this dude wojo should be getting paid by Blizz or at the very least, receive a permanent wow account. He is definitely giving more than taking when logging in. I also see this as a new mechanic that could change MMOs. A live quest giver is an awesome idea, especially in character. Imagine if they granted Wojo a few more effect items with the ability to make a quest and be voted up or down and give RPEXP depending on quality of fun. Nothing game breaking just a few special items that can be interacted with and the possibility to get more. This way becoming a “master role player” is now something to achieve in game and offers a different challenging path to success than WoWs normal model. In a way RP would become a type of build play style designed to enrich the game in a separate but important role just like PvP and PvE. Except now, they’ll be RP+E.

Dude, when I started playing WoW as a paladin, I was blessing all the city guards in Stormwind. Going to the Cathedral every day, bowing and kneeling, blessing myself, removing the sword in my backpack, walking in to the altar, praying and kneeling there for some time, then walking out. When I discovered Uther's statue, I was doing the same every day after I finished with WoW and going to bed. Sometimes visiting Northshire Abbey as a high level just to remember how I started and enjoying some time with the music inside the Church there. Good old vanila times. Now it's different, I don't do the fun stuff anymore ^^ Dont mock him, I know what exactly he is doing, living the game.

this is why I'm so mad: I played Ultima Online on a exclusively RP server. this was like we played 24/7, but with the coming of diablo 2, people left and eventually no one played anymore. when WoW came out, I inititally thought RP servers would be the same as back in our days, but well, ... it's like no one plays their character so, it's nice to see that someone still plays, but obviously it's weird to most people nowadays. :( sad.

This is how I played when I first started. I'm 21 now and I started in 2007 when I was 11 still. It took me over two months to figure out how to get out of the night elf area and into Goldshire. I was actually excited when someone gave me 1 gold. And the mechanical squirrel was so awesome. Druid forms were trophies to unlock and it took me until 2008 to even get a character to level 40 to get a mount. Back when it was 40. I stayed under lever 30 for months cause I had no idea what to do and played the way I wanted and it really did give the game a magical aura

I love getting dragged into RPer shenanigans. I once went from grinding skill points on an alt, to being asked to join a detective noir adventure solving the murder of a few set dressing corpses in Shadowfen, in ESO. Ended up breaking down the crime scene, analyzed the trajectory of a few arrows the area had in the ground, speculating on motives, murder methods, got way into it. I ended it as a CSI specialist who came in to crack this puzzling part of their case. Gave some words of warning about the rabbit hole going deep and being too old for this job, and we parted ways. Years later still one of my most memorable ESO moments.

I don't play WoW, but I do RP by myself. I play Lotro and I try to play my character in the most realistic style possible. What I mean by that is that I always walk my horse unless I'm running from an enemy, because horses irl can't gallop for miles on end. I sleep my character two of the night stages. I eat at least twice per day and all food in my bags has to be items that wouldn't spoil. And yes, I do this whether people are around or not. It has been really fun for me, taking my time, being able to look around and really notice all the beautiful places. It's not everyone's style of gameplay, but it suits me.

The real question we should be asking ourselves is: How did wojo find out the turtle god existed? Did he just randomly wave emote trough the entire map?

What I really like about Wojo is that he plays the game according is own conditions. He also does this in a very creative kind of way. What Wojo does, is that he presents us an experience that is unlike what we usually see and he is very generous in involving other players in this shared experience. Wojo shows us that it's ultimately about how we relate to the medium that we are exposed to rather than about the medium itself. Ultimately the game is really what you make of it and Wojo makes us aware of this. It is very easy to engage in simply consuming the game for whatever content is thrown at our plate, but it isn't a very creative thing to do. Wojo on the other hand is very very creative for he makes the best of the limited conditions he has to deal with and takes others with him on his personal journey. Wojo adds a dimension of epicness to the game that hasn't remotely have anything to do with epics at all. Yet is far more valuable than all epics and achievements combined, multiplied with a bazillion, covered with gold molten by the fiery breath of a thousand emerald dragons. To me, Wojo is like Gandalf gently pushing Bilbo Baggins to embark on an adventure that ultimately serves another goal than he would initially be able to imagine.

I totally understand that panda. Back in the days, I used to *walk* from Stormwind to Ironforge through all the connecting zones, on foot. Just because.... I imagined my character taking a journey through this great and immersive world. It can be quite relaxing :) Actually, thinking about it makes me want to do it again xD

So I was bored, and clicking random youtube video suggestions, found this one.... decided to watch all the way through and glad I did, this was hilarious... first i was amused by the desperation to protect the little guy from the wasps, and it just built until the payoff.. an actual turtle god... that was awesome!

i wish i had the patience to play MMORPG's like Wojo or atleast come across more people like him, the one time a ever came across a full on RPG moment was in SWTOR when a whole jedi guild called "The Order" or something went to the jedi temple and set up a full on ceremony to award some of the lower ranked members a higher rank... it was so crazy to see but super cool
