Stambeli, the spirits' last dance I Heritage (2/3)

Nothing is written in Stambeli. Therefore, the transmission of knowledge is fundamental to the survival of the rite. In the sanctuary of Sidi Ali Lasmar in the Medina of Tunis, the mystical cult survives. However, its future is uncertain. Between everyday scenes, music and trance ceremonies, the second episode features Riadh Ezzawech's fight for the survival of this heritage. How was he saved by the priestesses of Stambeli? What does it mean to be Arîfa in modern society? What place is left for the sacred and for other spiritualities in contemporary Tunisia?

C'est intriguant, la description qui est faite au début, de l' "accession" au statut d'arifa est similaire à ce qu'on trouve dans le chamanisme, mongol sibérien... la "maladie chamanique", la désignation par les ancêtres etc

Comme on dirait ici, ou comme on le disait. C'est un médium à incorporation. C'est très difficile et il faut une intériorité spirituelle très élevée pour avoir accès aux hauts esprits...et pas que les bas... Bref... très belle pratique, très beau reportage

But why did the heirs to the sanctuary have to sell it ??? I really hope this isn't the last dance It can't be It shouldn't be "A country with no history isn't a country" and a people with no history are merely ephemeral breaths. Something has to be done
