My therapist recommend that you turn it around and for me since I lost my balance after a back surgery they suggested I use it sitting down. You can also get some aerobic exercise if you put 2 2x4s under the plate to protect your knees, it's more like a recombent bikes at the gym.

Just got mine - seems to be very good quality. I did get a 2 year service plan as some people on Amzn said parts of them wear out after a year or so. Thanks for the vid!

It was so helpful to have a visual too. But wow, this thing is heavy. Mine is the E3000 (with the handle) but I thought it was more compact and lighter (25lbs as some advertised) but it is 30lbs in case anyone is interested. P.S. A couple of physical therapists (Bob and Brad) who recommended this machine put a 2 by 4 piece of wood under the bar to elevate it when using it in the seated position in their video called: 3 Best exercises (InMotion) E1000 Elliptical for anyone finding it awkward in the seated position.

Thank you for posting this video. My 10 years old Stamina E1000 Elliptical stopped working last night. Do you think it's worth to crack the plastic shell open to see if there is a tiny chance for DiY repair? If so, what should I look for? Or, do you suggest me to throw it away? This E1000 had a great life before last night.

ALL these years later and this video saved MY old bacon from doing anything TOO stupid:-) With SO much bad press on this as to being HORRIBLE in quality I am honestly shocked at just how nice it feels. Of course the first 5 miles or minutes in a brand new Yugo were probable nice & smooth too. Just before it exploded into a few hundred pieces once out on the highway? Oh well...At least for this moment I will savor this glass like smoothness while I read a book with one hand and drink my beer with the other. Oh. Wait.... THANK you for this video and all the time it took to help us out here in Geezerville:-) Oh, I was ALSO extremely pleasantly surprised at how NICE and detailed the instruction book is with NICE BIG pictures and glossy paper? China is coming along after all.

just got one for 5 bucks at salvation army..love it!....funny thing is it was assemble with both feet upside down...probably one of the people complaining how unsteady it was.

I also bought this. I think when you tried to stand , you mounted from wrong side. As per the manual, it’s opposite to stand than sitting mount.

How do I tighten those screws that came loose?

Your assembly instructions are fine, except for the mistake at 12:00 (I did the same thing), which you corrected. But your operational instructions from around 16:17 to 17:15 for the standing workout are incorrect and dangerous.The manual (p. 10) states very clearly NOT to stand on the machine with it in this position. You are correct that the sitting position works in this position, but you need to correct this video for the standing workout as soon as possible. People can be misled and injure themselves.

You might not need to read "stinky instructions" if you were not making a video to show how to assemble a machine, etc. You had a mistake with the plate. As someone mentioned you also were standing up on it wrong, which it is a second mistake for not reading instructions. I always read instructions, but decided to watch a video this time. It is a headache to assemble and then do it again. What a headache...for NOT reading instructions.
