IMHO, the dude who plays butcher ruins everything he's in. The only reason he didn't ruin LoTR was he was under too much costume and barely spoke. I'm happy for him he found this role that actually suits him. Hopefully, they don't ruin the show completely this season.

It’s in the way he both holds himself and the way he speaks. He knows when to slow his speech to make emphasis on a statement, and when to speed it up to emphasize that he knows what the hell he’s talking about. He doesn’t slouch, and often stands (or sits) straight up, so he becomes very imposing, even if he’s not the tallest person in the room. Stan is used to subordinates that are dutiful & loyal…the super-powered monsters that he needs to wrangle & keep in check…and the oblivious public that needs to be placated through media propaganda & political favors. Butcher represents a complete & utter disregard for any of that: he is a man that wants to kill supes, and doesn’t care if he dies in the process. Stan probably finds Butcher’s lack of ceremony & blunt honesty a refreshing change of pace.

The worst part about a businessman, is they aren’t good or evil. They have complete apathy towards how the world is, they will make a choice that positively affects hundreds of thousands, at the cost of millions suffering, if it means they can make a profit. Then they’ll turn around and raise money for charity, to make a profit of course. To them it isn’t about good or evil, or morality, it’s just business. Now that’s scarier than any villain that could ever exist.

@@TheOblake2I would say so. Apathetic people with great power can do much more damage than some of the most evil people. A serial killer may only kill a few dozen people over their lifetime but a unregulated company can kill, displace and cause life changing medical complications for millions of people. Just look at the fossil fuel industry and how they tried to conceal the environmental effects of what they were doing for decades. Or look at DuPont recklessly using PFOA in all its products, despite knowing the life threatening health effects of ingesting it for four decades. It’s use was so widespread small traces of PFOA can found in every living person on the planet including new born babies.
