I don't read a lot of comics but i do read a lot of stories, i like what he thought of that characters are not interesting solsly because of their powers, they are also interesting because of how relatable they are or the things the characters are facing that made you care about the character.

@@drrd4127 dude, what is your problem? He never said he didn't care about steve ditko. Also, he came up with spider man's (two words FYI, Mr. Holier-Than-Thou-"Fan") appearance. The writing gave spider man his character and personality. Maybe you struggle to read, so the writing doesn't matter to you. To the rest of us, however, it's just a tad bit more influencial than the pictures.

I know what you mean, my uncle owned a comic book store, and spiderman was always my favorite. I grew up first watching spider man and his amazing friends, then on the 90s animated series. The fact that spider man was a scientist made me interested in science and building gadgets, and the muscularity of all the super heroes made me want to work out from an early age. Now I do all of those things for a living. Don't know what I'd be doing today if not for spider man and for all of Stan Lee's characters.

Stan isn't the only one who thought of that a few years ahead of time lol. Chester Gould - creator of Dick Tracy - beat Stan to it with the "Two Way Wrist Radio / TV" etc. before people actually had TVs, with DT having access to all kinds of info via his handheld / wrist device. Stan is creative, but there's little doubt that here he's just repeating what someone else told him. Hell, half the stories he "wrote" were created by the artists at Marvel. The flip side is too many people try to belittle Stan Lee's contributions and say he takes too much credit. He deserves credit, it's just that a lot of the credit should be shared.

It may be from a different art-form but One Punch Man tackles the "perfection" issue in an interesting way. If you've never read/seen it, the premise is basically; the one punch man is depressed because he can never fight a good fight, due to his opponents being vanquished in one punch every single time. Interesting situations arise from there.

You never read a good Superman story. Superman is not perfect at all. Yes, he has lots of abilities and is one, if not the strongest superhero of them all, he character is one of the most interesting. What does the man who has everything do? He simply a mild manner reporter when he can be a king, a god! But no, he chooses to be humble and often in his stories he struggles on saving everyone when everyone expects he can do anything. Deep down he wants to be a normal guy
@libertyprime9307

@@cjc4426 Let's assess everything you just described: - he's more or less the strongest hero in the DC universe - he chooses to be humble instead of abuse his power - he struggles with the fact that he can't save everyone, and with expectations put on him - he wants to be a normal guy deep down In trying to list his imperfections, you just supported my point. He's of such infallible moral standing that he's upset he isn't even better at being a hero than he already is. He's perfect and dull. An absolute goody two-shoes. A Mary Sue. And I have read some good Superman stories. You know what my favorite Superman was? The Injustice comics. Because he went full evil and laser-fucked a hole through Billy's face. He's far more interesting as a villain.

The first Spider-Man movie almost follows the first issue page for page. The only difference is Mary Jane is in it instead of Gwen. But since a lot of kids at that time knew the 90s cartoon better than the 60s comic, it made sense to do that. I actually prefer Peter with MJ anyway. I know they added Gwen in Spider-Man 3, I mean it's Marvel. If course there's gonna be love triangles. lol Black Cat would have been cool to see. Vulture too but he made it into the MCU at least.

This man truly is a treasure in the comics and entertainment industry,I always adored his enthusiasm and how much joy he had going for him as a kid and I still do even after he passed. As an artist I wanna have that spunk Lee had and go through life with it cause man he lived a great one.

Larry King saying he read, cared or subscribed to comics is so cringeworthy considering he was passively insulting Stan and comics almost the entire time like wtf dude Stan was giving you an amazing interview but you’re too up yourself to see that lol

I don't see it as an insult. I think Larry King knows better and is asking typical questions that most of his adult viewers would have and Stan is answering them more so for the unknowing audience rather than just for Larry himself. Stan also knew how to sell a comic to anyone even if they had never read one before or thinks they are just for kids.
