Nice video. I've played a few variations of Cauldron combo, and I have to say that I really can't stand doing all these clicks on Arena. It's not as though I dislike combo decks (I own quite a few paper combo decks), but having to "click, click, click, resolve" for every token while racing the clock... ugh! Good for you having the stomach to go through the motions, I just can't do it lol.

9:32 Was thinking you could have potentially forgone the looting and instead untapped the cauldron given that all your creatures with counters had the Researcher's untap ability. Would have opened up the possibility of sticking Hexcatcher's ability onto the cauldron in the advent of a sweeper.

Good call! Not sure if I would've seen the line right away, but we could always respond to a sweeper by untapping Cauldron and exiling Hexcatcher!

11:00 with all these creatures available with the counters on them, can't one draw discard the island getting the pilgrimage, then the other two untap lands to play it, then the last merfolk can just keep untapping other merfolk for infinite?

Nice add with Vohar! in 19:05 you could untap your blue land so you can play the second pilgrimage and make tokens quicker.

In the second game you could have untapped your blue source and played the 2nd pilgrimage!

Indeed, the plan was to keep both creatures untapped, in which case we couldn't make that play first. As it turns out getting both enchantments in play would've sped things up a little.

Am I going crazy? Researcher can untap anything. So rather than using full control, untap a land first, or untap the cauldron!

The idea of full control is keeping both creatures untapped throughout the opponent’s turn. Otherwise we can even untap something that’s already untapped if it doesn’t matter.

I wonder if a deck with this engine would work with Warleader's call? Yes it would be 4-5 colors but would be a win once call resolves with combo in play.

Sultai with thirsting roots makes infinite mana dorks for a big x spell like Outrageous Robbery, kinda thought itd go that direction

I get what you're saying. The problem isn't the combo itself, it's how arena doesn't allow you to go infinite. In paper this would be much smoother, you just do the loop once, say "now I have infinite tokens" and pass.

not that I'm a big fan of infinite loops in general, but what I'm a lesser fan of is the inability to say "do this X times" in arena. It's annoying for the person pulling the combo off and even more so for the opponent having to wait for all abilities going on the stack and sloooowly resolving. I guess it serves as a soft deterrence for people with a hard-on for infinite loops... but at what cost, at what cost? **overdramatic**

Why should there be a deterrence? They are part of the game and players shouldn't be punished for playing the game how they like.
