It clearly shows that your hydrangea it's lacking iron. Chlorosis is a yellowing of leaf tissue due to a lack of chlorophyll. You can treat it with EDDHA Iron Chelate or Espoma Iron tone. Thanks for sharing great tips and advice from your beautiful garden. Good luck. x 🌸🌸

That is hysterical .. and somehow not really surprising. I had a similar but less accidental experience this year. popular wisdom tends to fixate on cuttings from new green growth but last year's growth seems to work just fine.

I learned that rooting hormone actually creates a callus on the cut end and speeds the rooting because of the callus. The hydrangea stems created a callus on the cut end while they stayed out in the open for one or two weeks after the spring prune and it seems that's why they rooted so easily. I think I'll try to get hardwood cuttings to root better by letting them callus for a while just like Rox did by happy accident!

You can also make hydrangea bonsai. wrap bonsai wire around the branches and bend the hydrangea breaches to look like a bonsai. You start making hydrangea bonsai trees , I guarantee you will be the only one in town that grows hydrangea bonsai trees. I use dwarf type paniculata hydrangeas for the bonsai trees. l also put the hydrangea bonsai tree in a traditional shallow bonsai pot. Hydrangea Bonsai Trees sell like crazy in Niagara Falls N.Y. zone 6a.

Hi there, My limelight has been eclipsed by the neighbor's woods encroaching and this year it is doing very poorly. I took all the old branches off a few weeks ago & put them in the garbage not realizing I might have been able to grow new ones. It's way too big to relocate & I don't have help anyway & can't do it myself. But now I am excited to try some cuttings if I do get some flowers. Last year there were only a couple. I am in NY State. Do I just leave the cuttings in pots outside during the winter? Thanks for any reply you're able to give.
@SoilandMargaritas
@SoilandMargaritas Жыл бұрын
So, you can try leaving the cuttings in pots outside, but the pots will be so little that in my opinion it will be better (at least their first year) taking them inside, just in case. I gave a somewhat update on this video recently (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h9eEfpSXsdnWkqc.html), while people do start a lot of hydrangeas from cutting in the summer-ish time, for me the ones in the Spring work better.
