So the research is pretty much relied on RUMORS? Interesting.

Nice work. but I'm just wondering how credible these source datas are especially in terms of the leaked emails (cuz as far as I understand, PRC government doesn't use email that often, documents are dispersed via QQ or Memo more frequently). Also, the paradigm of social media control actually shifted quite significantly these past two years under Xi's rule. As mis-informed people are gradually changed(or brainwashed) through time, there are more and more right-wing netizen and voluntary commentators. This research could be expanded through time to monitor such behavior in a 10-20 year period. The result could be very interesting.

The moment you mentioned "brainwashed" Chinese netizens, you already fall into the trap of an orientalist, elitist, and cold-war perspective on contemporary China. It is just like how cultural elites today in both Western and Eastern countries tend to condemn the mob-like netizens for whatever they feel and do. A sheer sense of intellectual superiority. A more nuanced historical study on the formation and transformation of Chinese netizenship is of course desperately needed, but communication scholars may want to refrain from labeling them simply right-wing or left-wing, given the vagueness and relativity of these terms, but to capture the complexity and contradictory sentiments involved in so-called "voluntary" commentators with the changing geo-political situation China faces up to.

almost all of the vitriolic and negative responses to this video are trolls, just check their empty( or perhaps mildly filled with random assortment of adverts or video game demos or sport things ) accounts. acts of the desperate and those who have no logical argument to counter with spit bile as the last resort. thanks for the lecture, much appreciated.

Goes without saying; people who are paid for that sort of work never go an extra mile - the leave posts, but their heart isn't in it. It takes an immense amounts of deep-seated malice and resentment to produce such content.

Why was the 50c “ARMY” renamed 50c “PARTY”, the military origins is significant but perhaps irrelevant with military fusion aka on demand conscription of nationals

Her Ph.D in escaping prison was how she got out xD Jokes aside, that's a different Jennifer Pan. This one is a professor while the other is a criminal in prison for life.

@@herobetty Funnily enough, I had to look her up for my own research purposes. You can imagine the amount of surprise I felt when I found out she'd tried to order hits on her parents. I guess they'd been too hard on pushing her to get a Harvard Ph.D.
