It's a nice start for Stanford. I hope each future Viennese Waltz Ball can be simplified to highlight the waltz itself. These dances mixed in a little too much silly modern dance. It's not too difficult to make the waltz work, almost as simple as one, two, three. The lighting also might be more subtle, and would it be too difficult for Stanford to bring in a real orchestra? Check out how Andre Rieu presents the Blue Danube, and you'll be on your way to a celebration of the waltz in all its beauty.

Where a gymnastic display meets the ballroom!. Spectacular as this is, I much prefer earlier Stanford offerings where the elegance of the waltz was more dominant. Ah well, this trend is what I as a mere Aussie expect of America.

This is too much like show biz. I miss the earlier years opening performances. Those ones had real class.

Not beautiful. I think they could have lifted the ladies by the waist and not under their rear ends.
