This is a wonderful example of how paintings tell the painter what to do. Well done.

I feel seen watching this, it's so encouraging to know that your process is personal but at the same time we artists share in it in some sublime way in creating work to touch the soul. It makes me feel more confident. Thank you ❤

Thank you so much for posting this! In my head this is how I paint but without any art background I constantly struggle to find my way as to how to accomplish it. It helps so much to see your process and read in the comments what products you use. I find it very frustrating to try to find videos or instruction on this type of painting. Do you have any suggestions on how to learn?

Barbara Wainscott well, that’s complicated. What happened here was an evolution that still continues. I come from a very traditional figurative and portrait background. The changes came out of a curiosity about what paint can do when not necessarily describing something. It’s quite a rabbit hole. If you search #disruptedrealism on IG and online in general, you will see artists working similar ways to this. Some teach workshops as well. My offerings are on my site if my personal process interests you. Thanks for stopping by here. www.stankakordic.com

@@StankaKordic Thank you so much for your reply! I have squeezed every bit of insight from your website already...many times over. I am coming out of a hiatus from indulgences during a fifteen-year struggle to pay off debt from my husband's illness. I'm happy to say that dark chapter is now over. After first getting some things "fixed"...my house, me, etc. (Ha!) I look forward to being able to splurge on some of your instructional goodies. In the meantime, please continue to post available content for those of us still struggling; it is greatly appreciated. I checked out the disrupted realism and I have to say...the pieces I was continually drawn to were invariably yours. So many of the others lack the ethereal quality of your art. Your art transforms commonplace figures much like a mist transforms the harshness of a landscape and turns it into a mysterious realm that entices the viewer to enter in. I can't wait to see what you do next. Thank you.

11:05 Hehehe ... I think we've all been there before. With me it would have been a palette knife and with my luck it would have gone right through the canvas. :)
