I have been searching for tools, like Black & Decker's that come with say Bluetooth Low Energy integrated. This allows for 1.) monitoring the performance of the employee, 2.) monitoring wear and tool status, 3.) monitoring tool use, 4.) tracking tools through the facility, and a bunch of other things. When will this arrive!? :-)
