Just got mine and its fantastic. Only problem is tommy bar should be longer for more leverage but ring spanner fixes that.
@Sebsation133 жыл бұрын
If you want more leverage on the tommy bars, you can use a pipe as an extension.

Thank you for a great informative and interesting review, your review has definitely made up my mind wether to buy one of these vices or not, as I was not sure how the vice was tightened for the different angles etc. but you showed it to perfection. Thank you again Be safe Sam N.Ireland

Man I wish I saw this review a few days ago, but I wish I could find it for 30 bucks even more. Good review, I’m gonna get one for a bow vice also, and of course my riffle maintenance etc..

Jeff Slagle I’ve been very happy with it. The holding strength and stability is phenomenal. Will work well for a bow.

How wide do the jaws open? I've just ordered one. I like the fact that you can put a rifle in it and using the ball, level it using a bubble & plumb bob, to level a scope in the rings and guarantee the reticle is also leveled perfectly with the receiver. The ball, under tension, will allow you to lock it in place after leveling the systems. I use upper & lower blocks on a Tipton vice presently, I'll like the Stanley for its portability along with the ball advantages. Thanks for the review.

George Dean fulllllly open it is a hair under 3”. And what you want to use it for is exactly what I do with it too. I have 2 cheapo level blocks Darice 91095-01 Mini Level Picture Hanging www.amazon.com/dp/B0054G62KW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1l2ZCbJGE4VV8 I use. I put one on the rifle and get it level and then the other one on the top cap of the scope. Works great. Good luck!

@@jasunderlan I've got so many leveling tools. ;-) I'm anal about that. Also have the Wheeler Engineering scope leveling system. Super kit! Thanks for the response. I've a new MDT LSS XL Gen 2 chassis, with a .308 Savage in it which I've just mounted a Vortex 6-24X50 MM Mildot Viper on. I replaced the 10X42 Milquad SWFA Super Sniper, which will now go on my 20" AR. I'm so cheap; I have a specialty tool for working on Harley amber running lights, hanging from some paracord in the basement, that's my plumb bob.

I was going to get the Dremel version of this vise, but this looks much better in construction, and that vertical feature is good. How has this held up?
@jasunderlan4 жыл бұрын
Positive Reinforcefeed I couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve owned it now for 2 years now and it still works great for everything I use it for (mainly working on firearms or cleaning them). You can’t go wrong with this one!

Great review, thanks for sharing! How heavy is the rifle?
@jasunderlan5 жыл бұрын
Red Patrick Desepida the one in the video is a .50 Beowulf and it is probably 8lbs. I also use it for my 6.5 Grendel with a 20” heavy barrel and I’d say it weighs 10lbs or so it works great.
@jasunderlan5 жыл бұрын
Red Patrick Desepida Did a quick follow up on it with my Grendel I checked and it’s right at 10 lbs. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mZl3mqV4ls-4koU.html

@@jasunderlan GREAT to see and know the weight as I'm wanting this for crosscut saws which are lighter than that (but a lot longer).

Appreciate this is an old vid. I have just ordered my bev block and looking for a small vice to hold it (I have limited space). Will this provide enough support to torque down a barrel nut to (say) 80ft/lbs? Thanks
@jasunderlan11 ай бұрын
Glad the video helped. I do not think it is strong enough for 80ftlbs. I just use a stationary vise for barrel nuts. Good luck!

Hey - how much weight do think this thing can handle? 30-40lbs?
@jasunderlan2 жыл бұрын
I think so. I did a follow up because people were asking that question. I used a 25lb dumbbell in it. Check it out! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mZl3mqV4ls-4koU.html

What is the specific question you have? This vise works great for gunsmithing and I’d love to answer any questions you have about the vise itself.
