I remember another review video from Fools in Action - trying to tell their viewers that Dewalt’s 20v mower was good - after it stalled about half dozen times in 4 inch tall grass ON CAMERA - and Stan was there - in total disbelief they had audacity to make that claim to their audience. Stan isnt “trying” to just fill his garage with free product at the expense of his reputation. Thank you.

I'm not a tradesman and pretty much only own hand tools... but Milwaukee has blown me away. Every car technician I see is praising these tools, every carpenter out there is yelling to the world how great they are. Hope they keep making great products and don't fall into the trap of so many other companies where they start to chase the less expensive production costs and really cheapen their end product. This thing is awesome, great demo... but then I checked out the price. For $1000 I want to be able to cut more than 1/2 an acre.

It’s true. Milwaukee is spearheading the game for battery powered tools. Our tools take a beating every season in our landscaping business and still go strong. My husband has a Sawzall from the 70’s that belonged to his grandfather and that things still goes strong. They make quality products and listen to feedback and make improvements. Our M18 batteries have outlasted all of our other batteries from other brands. My father in law is currently switching from DeWalt to Milwaukee because all of his DeWalt batteries are dead.

I thought it was very expensive, too, until I took into account It comes with two large batteries and a quick charger. The batteries can be used in the 2 gallon shop vac and other tools, so I think it's a pretty good deal.

I just bought the mower w/2 batteries with a bonus deal at HD that included the blower with 1 extra 12ah battery since I already had 1 for my chainsaw. I used a 10% off coupon so Total was $1300 otd with tax and free shipping. Now having a dual fast simultaneous charger (250 watts fyi) will be helpful at my off grid cabin. Also, done with my honda mower that I changed the oil maybe 4 uses ago but will NOT start for some reason after using it 2 weeks earlier. Reminds me of why I bought the battery weed wacker; I don’t have time to monkey around with carburetors…

20 years ago in my youth, using petrol lawn mowers, we used to keep one deck with the front cut out of it so the grass wouldn't be flattened entirely before the blades got to it. I don't know what you'd call the cutting method (mulch or rear discharge) but we just welded lengths of chain onto a metal strip which we bolted on the upper edge of the open back of the mower, the chains hanging down to stop stones and other hard crap from being flung at high speed (and most painfully) into your legs, a similar arrangement at the front to protect bystanders and prevent property damage. "Self-propelled" was you pushing the thing yourself, whatever speed you liked, contingent on the thickness of the grass. That old thing could cut whatever you could push it through, with it's ancient Briggs & Stratton motor. It's probably still around somewhere.

I recently cut the front off of some miserable 3.5 HP flathead Briggs powered 19" no name push mower as well as enlarging the opening on the side and removing the plastic deflector to really let her fart some grass out. It still wasn't dangerous enough for me, so I use a zip tie to hold the bail bar down and cranked the governor up to about 5k. She cuts like a sum'bitch, lemmie tell ya.

I've been considering one of these and have been reading the reviews on HD's site, and am now on the video watching phase of my research. The few I've seen so far have been guys mowing finely manicured lawns and then there's this video. I'm blown away at how the same mower that can produce an amazing finish cut can also romp through the rough stuff like it was a park strip. Thanks for this video! I think I'm ready to buy one. *edit- since you asked at the end, I'd liked to have seen underneath the deck after you mowed that tree (!!!). I could have sworn you were going to break the motor mount like some people have been able to do.

He showed me a sketch of it and seemed pretty genius they way they are going to do it. When we were talking they are supposed to be out in the market sometime in 2023 and will retro fit on existing lawn mowers.

Stan, since you've been doing a bunch of mower reviews, one thing would be great is if you would measure from the concrete to the bottom of the blade and let us know what the max height of cut is. Some of us need 4.5 - 5", a lot of times the mower will advertise a height that isn't constant with the measured height mentioned.

Ryobi's new self driven one is a step down from last generation, they went from inaccurate markings and being mentioned in the manual, to no mention in the manual, and no markings. Would be nice to also know the distance the blade is from the base of the deck.

Great review, Stan. I noticed the discharge chute isn't fully enclosed - it's got an open bottom. Smart design, as it allows more airflow with less restriction. I've had older Honda self propelled walk behinds with similar discharge chute but it was fully enclosed to the actual opening. In thick, tall, and wet grass it would clog up inside the chute. I like that feature, and the ower sounds like it's got plenty of power. And please show us the big tank!

I was just thinking the same.. I love my semi commercial Honda 537 and she earned me a lot of money, but even the latest model with a more powerful 200 cc engine still gets bogged down in wet thick grass (the type I usually cut given my client base) because it clogs up the back discharge. And I do have a bunggie cord that lifts that plastic flap giving it a maximum possible opening. And with all that tinkering boom, the sucker bogs down. It's a good thing she has a blade clutch so I don't have to kill and start the mower every time this happens.. Anyway, a dissapointing flaw in an otherwise awesome machine.

I have a Ryobi Electric Push Mower, and I love it. It does pretty well with tall grass and even does pretty well with brush mowing (I use a duller blade for that lol) the kicking up and down that you mentioned the mower was doing is the same thing th Ryobi does, they call it "GAS LIKE POWER!" and for the most part I totally agree with that, I work 2 jobs and my parent both work so our yard goes without a cut for a few days, and being in south Alabama with random rain, it tends to grow pretty quick, but these newer electric mowers really impress me with how much they can do! Maybe ill have to give the Milwaukee a try! 😁

Love MIlwaukee and it looks like a great mower, but I can't fathom spending $1,100 for a walk-behind mower - especially a cordless one if you have a bigger piece of land and each battery costs $250 if you need spares. I just can't bring myself to shell out the kind of money they want for mowers. The cost of a gas mower over battery is a big difference. Functions just like my trusty old Honda that I picked up for 45 dollars on Craig’s list.. I love those ultra mature Japanese motors that couldn’t die even if you, never changed the oil, never cleaned the carb, never drained the fuel, and never cleaned it! Couldn’t kill them if you tried!

Hey Stan, I appreciate your review and honest opinion videos, absolutely awesome.... the entire line of Milwaukee Fuel tools are amazing quality and after this video...thanks to you.... gonna add the mower now!!! If you spray the bottoms of the mower decks with the under truck coating spray then the grass doesn't stick to it 99% of the time... not sure if you tried that before or even heard that or not but it's worked for me... again...thank you for these videos brother 💪👍👊🙏

Nice review What I would have given for a mower like that when I was a kid. We had a piece of crap that would take us an hour to get running right. Then when we were worn out, we had to cut the grass.

It should come with a quality mulch blade, instead of a barebones basic, that they think will cut nice specially when mulching, I do want one, and the first thing I'd do before leaving the store is buy a better blade. For 1000 buckaroos I sharpen a piece of scrap iron. Love the video Stan.
