i'm a makita guy ever since working with my uncle in the shop and him using his 30 year old makita grinder all the time.... i have all the following in 18v: 2 brushless drills, 3/8 brushless impact, 1/2 brushless impact, brushless sawzall, jig saw, the brushless circular saw, the 18in hedge trimmer, and even the small makita vacuum cleaner (got on clearance at home depot for 70 bucks with a battery!) and one thing that impresses me about makita stuff is i've abused the heck out of these...and they all work great, i forgot one drill in the bird bath doing some work on the fence and it filled with water and i found it a week later...still worked great, also i have had 1 18v battery that is like 7 years old now and it still holds an excellent charge....i have had one little battery die out on me, but the big battery is the one thats 7yrs old...

really like Makita Ive been using their cordless tools for a long time over 11 years, corded for 20 years. upgrading their kit tools as the lesser powerful kit tools can be pushed beyond the capability. What I want to see is for them to strengthen the yellow tab on the battery. That tab can break before I wear out the rechargeable batteries inside. very annoying when all the other batteries on work sites arent breaking in this manner.

@codyolmstead49073 жыл бұрын
@@N2UPROD pure sine wave? power station would be cool. I know Milwaukee is doing it with their mx fuel batteries. Pretty interesting to see a battery powered generator. Maybe my comment is a year late considering Makita is already moving up to the 40 v line. One of my favorite Makita tools is pretty simple. The DLM806 Lantern. I've got the saws, the drills, the other tools. But this is a flashlight/lantern combo that has never let me down. Who knows what next year will bring for tools... Makita makes a lot of specialized tools, which would be great to have depending on how much I can put them to work. It'd be great to have the backpack vacuum cleaner XCV 05 to reduce dust in the air. This is one concept other manufacturers haven't quite embraced. And somethings are a bit ridiculous like heated jacket, or portable coffee maker(Come on, I can bring my own in a thermos, and save battery power for more critical applications.) The original reason I liked Makita is for their impact driver.
@Dirtmonkey4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comments!
@717UT4 жыл бұрын
I think Makita set the bar for impact drivers, and arguably the cordless industry, when they released the 18v LiIon square packs. Those first gen impacts were awesome and so much smaller than I remember other impacts of the era. That was when DeWalt just switched to to LiIon but the battery packs were still huge.

True, but like all tools, they give up after a while. Ive had a brushless rotary hammer drill ecu die twice in 5 years, so i gave it away for parts. Also had a few batteries die and needed new switches on grinders and impact drivers. Nothing lasts forever.
@AnArmyLessThisOne4 жыл бұрын
@@kizzjd9578 But they do have a repair/service network that's unbelievable. I live in Atlanta, Makita has a repair shop here. If anything breaks or goes out, I just drop it off and pick it up in a week for $15 here, $25 there. I bought a compound miter saw from a secondary market seller (it was returned to HomeDepot as 'broken.") I dropped it off at Makita; since it was under 12 months old and still under factory warranty, they tuned the whole thing for free. Everyone makes good tools; to me it matters who has the best repair service.

@kwangyi21344 жыл бұрын
Looking at the size of transformer on DMR115 sold overseas, I doubt it will replicate the full function or charging rate of Makita's dedicated charger, but with much reduced charging rate. This is still way better than having to drain precious battery power to play radio. I just don't see the merit of having fully portable radio, like some people chose to stick their ear next to the speakers and making all kinds of animal like self-humiliating moves in public display. I'm convinced that Makita does make the quality tools no other manufacturers can match, but sometimes they seem to skip attention to minor details.
