Well I have to say I have been an automotive technician for 25 years I'm an ASE certified Master tech and it doesn't matter what you buy they all have fail points built into them and the only reason I'm biased toward Dodge is because I like the way they look and I've have had quite a few over the years and I have had good luck with them and thank you for your blessings, stan

Not a cert. Tech but I did like my dodge as much as my fords tech wise... I sold the dodge couple days go after 45k miles on it... it was a comfortable ride but started showing rust after 2 North east winters and I had to trade it before it got bad ... it was a good truck, no tech problems and only had to swap 2 tires as front end didn't wear well ... got stuck with my chevy on side of road few times but have to say it was a tug of war with that thing all way up to 100k miles ... it turned down hill really fast past 60k n it even sat for couple years before I sold it ...

You are correct the factory tires are junk. Ours lasted between 12-15,000 as well. When washing the truck go to the front and back of the rear tire, then put the washer nozzle between the inner fender liner and the open space under the bed. This allows the washer to clean out all the mud and salt that causes rust in the wheel well. We have had Ram trucks since 2011 and have never had one rust over the rear tires like you described because we wash them in this fashion. It is surprising to see how much dirt and grime collect in this area. Great review!!!

Love/Hate is a perfect description. I’ve got a 2019 crew 2500 with the Hemi. No loss of power, quiet cab and comfortable. Run a Meyer 9.5 v-blade and a snowex tailgate salter, begin each storm with a full pallet of salt in the bed. The truck is a beast, but the body is horrible! Mine is covered in little dents as well!

I'm really happy for you guys, that your having great luck with the pickups. I've heard more times than I can count of current gen hemis eating camshafts or puking the whole engine. One common theme it seems to those cases is LOTS of idle time. IE: squad cars and pickups on construction sites and in mining. Hope they continue to serve you guys in the years ahead, trouble free!

Between my little brother, my step dad, and I we have every generation of dodge/ Ram pick up trucks. None of our trucks have any body rust nor transmission issues. My 2nd gen and 4th gen have over 300,000 miles. My 5th gen is rolling over 150,000 no issues. My trucks are v10 and 6.4L. My step dad and little brother have the cummins. I’ll stand by my trucks. I live in PA and I rarely wash my trucks. They all have dents and dings but it’s a truck it adds character and a story.

I tell you this, ive had all 3, gas and diesel. Not new of course but these are results ive had , i have only dodge trucks now. 1 2500 gas, and an old w350 12 valve cummins. Only complaint i have is the bodies. But keep in mind, trucks are built for work, when they concentrate on luxury and such you lose somewhere else on it. Ive had 2 duramax, both garbage when worked, my fords pulled great, but maneuvering, and durability in drivetrain was lacking. The dodges done everything i wanted and more. Ive had 1 issue in my 2500. That was an overdrive solenoid

Glad you are having good luck. Four years later two transmissions and rust all over the place my ram 2500 has not been very good Upstate NY . Only good thing I can say about mine is the Cummins engine. Been a nightmare with wiring issues with this truck. My 04 f 350 Dolly does not have anywhere near the rust. Yes it has that 6.0 nightmare engine but at 80 thousand had it bullet proofed 400 thousand miles later it’s still running great and plowing and also put a piece pickup bed dump.kit on it. Don’t know if I’ll get another Dodge after this one . Not been happy with this truck durability after four years

16:45 The Ram might go through the snow better because of its stiffer chassis and coil spring rear suspension with trailing arms (as opposed to bare leaf springs without trailing arms). Preventing wheel hop helps so much in the snow.

However, my diesel ram pulls my tractor, shredder and trailer, scaling 22,000 alone, with a 1500lbs if fuel and tools in the bed perfectly. Even overpowered the parking brake i left on by accident. I have a 2017 RAM 2500 and it's had zero issues also. It's been a great truck and was half the price of the Ford I was looking at. No rust either and I live here in Utah where they salt the roads like crazy as well. What I did was spray the underbody with Rust-Oleum 248656 Professional Grade Rubberized Undercoating Spray when it was new and it still looks new underneath. My brother has done that to his truck also and hasn't had a hint of rust either.

Give that 6.4 some time and you’ll need a “valve adjustment” because that engine is flawed. They have have problems oiling the cam and lifters. The lobes start to flatten and they sound like a diesel. Dodge has a solution and that is tightening the valve springs, which only compounds the issue. 2018 power wagon with 68,000 miles and I need a new engine. I’m buying a Ford with the off-road package, it comes with a rear locker.

You must not know much about Ram transmissions. They have tossed in some of the worst Transmissions in history into their recent products. Hey, Polski, you know talking about the RAMS 'pick me up trucks', gotta mention, ANDREW CAMARATA has/had two of them. They too have a "couple" dents and he seems to work them hard. You talk about the interior, well on his older one, he needed a radio change. Simple for him to do and since the space needed to be larger, he took his CHAINSAW to the dash and enlarged the opening. Seriously, many of you guys have RAMS and I found that interesting and your testament probably sold a few more. New FORDS are aluminum so talk about dents, much tougher $$$ to repair on aluminum bodies. They should be changing BRAKELINE metal to STAINLESS. The choice is yours and we love what you do anywho so have at it! Thanks for another one! Sonny (CT)

I have a 2006 GMC 2500HD fully loaded, snow plow prep package, single rear wheel, extended cab, 6.0 gas engine... I have a Fisher extreme v stainless 8.6 that I have had since they first came out in like 2007-2008.. I installed Timbrens in the front and rear... I would run my truck and plow through the touchless car wash after every time I plowed.. I changed the engine oil every 5k, Mobile 1 fully synthetic, grease the front end, and change the fluid and filter every year on the plow... I have Never had to replace one thing on my plow ever.. Not even a hose.. I would spray the plow and hoses, ect with WD40 or Ballistol about once a month to prevent rust and it worked awesome.. I also have never had to replace anything on the steering or suspension on my truck except for the two front wheel bearings at around 90k miles... it has 166k miles on it currently and runs like a Swiss watch.. no rot, no rust, and over the years I’ve replaced the brakes twice, a radiator, a few brake lines because one leaked and I didn’t like the look of a couple other ones so I took preemptive action and did them at the same time... I also had to replace the battery twice, the alternator once, the starter once... that is the entire list of Everything I’ve ever had to replace since 2006 and 166k miles... I worked that truck everyday, and it is my daily driver... every winter I do a TON of plowing and go through about 2 cutting edges per season on average... I sub from someone who has a Huge account that included a couple ship yards and train station parking lots, so that gives you an idea of the amount of work I do just on plowing... I don’t abuse my stuff but I certainly do not baby it either... I do take good care and maintain my stuff though, and do all my own mechanical repairs, as well as take care of other equipment... my truck is certainly by no means the most rugged... in fact I’d say dodge is a more solid built truck, but has too many secondary parts failures... my point is, that if you take proper care of your stuff, and don’t crash into too many things, then there is no reason to have equipment troubles... the biggest problem I see, is that everyone uses a different piece of equipment instead of operating a dedicated assigned machine to them... people operate equipment differently and push the limits in different ways, which is not good for the longevity of the equipment... when you use the same equipment the same way all the time it is much less taxing on it, instead of stressing everything out all the time by having people who are not so familiar with some equipment, use it incorrectly and break stuff...
