I just wanted to make an update regarding my comments about the seat cushion. Staples might have the absolute best customer service I’ve ever dealt with… the chair has a 5 year warranty and after telling them about my cushion issue they sent me an completely new seat. After this customer service I couldn’t recommend the chair more for the price.

I had no idea that the hyken was so popular. I needed a chair, i went into staples and sat in almost every chair. The hyken was by far the most comfortable and the price was acceptable. no brainer.

As a previous Staples employee, let me pitch in my experience from selling and building our chairs, the Hyken is our most popular chair by far, and for good reason. Don't get the Dexley, you might think it's just a bigger Hyken, but it's got much less features, but a larger base and weight limit, so it's up to you to decide that. Our gaming chairs are fine, the Vartan is really nice if you want the gamer look, it's built by the same manufacturer(at least the mechanical parts) as Razer's just without the lumber hump, which I personally hate. But a few things you mentioned in your initial and 1 year review, are true, except my cushion on mine at 16 months is still fine. If you want a more Aeron type chair, check out the Kroy, same company, it has infinite tilt options, with lock, the armrests have a bit less rattle, but same basic adjustment. It also doesn't include a headrest, like the Aeron. Overall, it's also built a bit better, the lumbar is less comfortable, but not by too much in my opinion. Pricewise, you can find the Kroy for around $30-50 more

I bought this chair thinking it would be the best chair for me but I found two huge flaws. The first one being the foam cushion that he mentioned in the video, but not regarding the durability of it, but the fact that if you sit in this chair for long periods of time the mess starts to sag enough for your hamstrings to touch the foam part which starts to cut off circulations in the legs. The second issue would be the head rest. It's been placed in a position where it touches the back of your shoulders. For reference I am 5'11'' and 155 lbs.

Purchased Hyken online Staples this week for $169.00. Arrived today. Easy install.

Thanks for the video! I was in the fence trying to decide between the Hyken, Dexley or a second hand Steelcase Think V2. Your point about customer service was the biggest factor. Hyken is on sale rn, black color is $99. Just scooped mine up today and assembled it. Happy so far. But wondering if you can lock the back to stop it from reclining. It feels good though. Definitely worth $106.99 all in with tax.

2:50 plenty comfortable 2:58 had initial complaints with the width of armrest until i found you can widen them a little.

My Hyken chair cushion also came loose just like yours and I just called the manufacturer, they're sending me a new one. Another issue I had was the left lever that adjusts the backrest lean broke and they're also replacing the whole lever assembly.

Bought the Hyken because of the amount of comments it received online, was one of the most uncomfortable chairs I've used at that price point to me. I'll never buy a mesh bottomed chair again, it's especially uncomfortable sitting cross legged with the feet on the chair. Mesh digs into legs and feet. Arms were also falling apart after about a year of use. I liked the head rest though.

got it for $140 in stores yesterday, great back lumbar support, I'm 5'7

I actually took the front pad out because it was causing me numbness. I only weigh 140 so im surprised this isn't a common issue expressed. Perhaps I have to break it in a bit more

i have had the chair for over 4 years the mesh has completely sagged and i now have the plastic on the sides of the seat digging into my thighs and am in pain whenever i sit in the chair for a long period of time

I just recently purchased a hyken, and my only complaint so far is the headrest is too far forward which pushes my neck/head forward. I took the headrest off for now. If I'm going to go back to the headrest, I'd make a spacer to put between the headrest and where it bolts to the back of the chair. Longer screws would be required to compensate for the thickness of the spacer. Other than that, so far so good.

I thought this was a good chair too. But that’s before I knew what a good chair was. I bought the Embody and once sitting in it I realized how much pain I was in because of this chair. Also the head rest on the Hyken is way too low and the mesh on it was giving out after only 6 months. I think this chair has its place and is okay for some people, but honestly I think it gets way more love than is deserved. If you are someone who will sit in the chair for 6+ hours a day, you will see what I am talking about.

If anyone has this chair and it's very squeaky their are 2 holes on the bottom of each armrest inside the holes their are 2 alan heads that can be tightened. Tighten those and hopefully the chair doesn't squeak anymore.

I took the lumbar off, lowered the arms and bought a purple cushion so I don't feel the front edge and all is good!

I bought this chair for 200 dollars including the 5 year warranty. So far exceeds expectation

Literally just got mine I love this thing

My Hyken has the same cushion issue and it drives me insane. Have to fix it like once or twice a day. Probably started happening to me like 6 months in and I'm not rough with my belongings. I'm still using it because I can't justify a Herman Miller yet. Aside from the cushion, I think it's a good value option.

I use old aeron and tried hyken in staple and it was so much more comfortable than aeron planning to switch

I've had mine for a day, and that memory foam at the front puts my legs to sleep. That foam falling out would be an improvement for me.

I've had the red version of this chair for about 3 years, honestly the most comfortable office chair I've owned. Unfortunately, the back catching mechanism stopped working today. Took it apart to see if I could fix it, but I couldn't figure it out.

@Spencer Stanley, I am 5'0" and trying the Hyken out in the store was pleased by its smaller/narrower seating, and found the mesh amazingly comfortable, just I would have to lose the headrest entirely. Did you happen to notice a chair similar but without a headrest, by any chance, when you noticed the Dexley?

Why your chair headset looks higher? I went to staple to try Hyken, and found the headset locates the same height as my shoulders, making me feel really uncomfortable.... Dexley is better...
