I can certainly understand what you mean when you say that people have forgotten how to figure things out for themselves. I started my computer hobby in the 70s. There were hardly any books about it, and certainly no instructional videos. Back then, we had to figure everything out ourselves, and that was what made it so much fun. There is hardly anything better than finding a solution yourself without help. People these days are hand fed too much.
