This is basically all I did when I played. Fly around, explore, find some cool location to visit, take pictures, often I ended up parking the ship and going to bed right there

@@reezlaw I invested in a Corsair during IAE but not to pirate, more to be able to defend myself and bring crew along. Can't wait for the exploration loop to get fleshed out! I consider the Corsair a solid starter exploration ship, and multi-role enough to take some of the sting out of the price in the meantime...

48:18 the absolute most impressive thing about this game is that you can get down to this level of detail, from the point of flying into the planet's atmosphere and it's all a seamless experience. Truly incredible.

People can talk bad about this game all they want for not being done, there is still nothing else like it. They added Double Floating Point worldsize to the CryEngine years before anyone else even considered it. UE5 i think has it just now this year? The game is a technical masterpiece already.

I bought into the alpha back when it first launched like 10 years ago or so. All we had then was a hangar with our ship in it, within a year i think they added more to the building. Glad to see it's progressing now, especially since I no longer have access to the account -.-

This is all I want to do, cruise around checking things out. It'd be nice though, if the external chase camera wasn't so rigid and gave a little bit. For me, being able to see the ship move a bit in relation to it's surroundings would make things like landing and flying close proximity easier. Awesome vid

They need to add a HUD hologram that shows the ship in 3rd person like in Elite Dangerous. So immersive and convenient in that game not needing to go into 3rd person to see where exactly you're landing.

@Crypto Arnold There would still be no immersion. VR creates a sense of depth and scale. You feel 'in it' instead of just looking at it. Monitors don't even come close.

That lake.... 😍🥰 That will probably be the #1 contested area for player housing. Though I do wonder if the planets will be big enough. With having those moons too and everything being 1/4 the size of our real solar system, there should be more than enough space. I guess it just shows how hard it is to picture the scale this game already has.

I balance the audio with EQ and other filters while editing. The standard ship sound is pretty low. :)

Here after a session of Starfield, wishing I could explore in that game the way I can in Star Citizen. Piloting through beautiful realistic seamless worlds > fast travel loading screens (I like Starfield but if Star Citizen were a finished product, I'd be living there from now on)

The rain hitting the wind shield and being blown backward and upward at 5:43 is the level of details that I was not expecting. But the planet surface looks just like earth is quite disappointing!

Those tiny details really make the game. And the planet is specifically terraformed to have an atmosphere similar to Earth, so that's why. :)

that specific planet has a few different biomes you can fly around. there's the forest area, some snowy mountains and then an rocky wasteland all of the other planets ingame have biomes too (except Crusader because it's a gas giant)

Love rivers... love lakes... Star Citizen gets rather cozy, or fishy . Looking forward to rain in a big city, maybe ArcCorp and .. many other things. When failing at some Shenanigans , at least can go out with a splash !

The key is to build everything in-game in a modular way but with that being stated, what CIG have collectively achieved already is nothing short of Phenomenal, this IP is literally realising a dream and is now clearly demonstrating and illuminating the projects virtually unlimited potential. It is very exciting to imagine just how much of a complete and immersive experience this game will become as hardware and software technologies and capabilities continue to improve into the future, 10 years from now this game may evolve into a thoroughly convincing and populated alternate reality.

So far the build which currently exists represents a great technical feat and achievement, the fact that it is not yet even close to completion bewilders and excites in equal amounts lol . . .

It really is amazing how well the game runs with all of those nice tree models. Dense forests always impress me. I wish I could make a game with dense forests that ran above 10 fps. I wonder how they do it so well.

Ever tried LOD? numbing down faces and normal for a certain distance does most of the job. From very far view, you can even just normalmap your forests.

Flying that medical Piscis during the last event got a 30K and I lost the suit I was wearing ARDEN-SL “RED ALERT” ARMOR. It was really cool but proves why I don't wear expensive armor in SC ships 😅. I should had woken with my armor, but yeah... it's SC

Watching this really gives me a sense of why they got motivated to build the simulation we are in. Imagine how much there is to do with a whole planet, simulated down to the subatomic level if you care to look, full of MOBs that are so complex that they are convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that the whole thing is ground truth - even when presented with evidence to the contrary.

This is the perfect way to play Star Citizen. My blood pressure tends to go up when I'm trying to accomplish something because of the myriad bugs encountered along the way. If I slow down and enjoy the ambiance and environment, it can be quite relaxing.

I'm happy you think so! People can choose to indeed do contracts or missions, but I very much enjoy pure sightseeing. There are no animals or alien creatures yet, but there are bases, cities, and ruins you can explore. :)

Este juego tiene tanto potencial... de ir en cualquier dirección. Quisiera jugarlo. Siento que podría convertirse en el juego definitivo. Algo muy al estilo Star Wars, pero que pudiese albergar fantasía y ficción, por igual a gusto y disgusto. Quien carezca de la intuición para ver este juego como "la semilla" más importante de este género intergaláctico sencillamente no ama los juegos. Definitivamente una proeza que valdría la pena experimentar.

If they can incorporate building, farming, banditry from yocals, and simple live in the wilderness features, it would be the end of so many "game" titles. No joke someone needs to pass these requests and ideas to Robert. Imagine a freaking space sim game where one can live of the land. Insane. the guy that did the sound fx has clearly never stood next to a body of water because it doesnt make that noise, it actually makes no noise at all, you would just hear the wind, your own footsteps and maybe the occasional bird fly away.

I hope they make the 3rd person ship view more realistic. ship doesn't shake or no visible wind signatures. Just looks like its just floating. Look amazing other than that. Really like how there's rain droplets when flying through a cloud

So it is actually more realistic with dynamic camera on. I didn't know that at the time of recording, but I do have that turned on in newer videos. :)

There isn't any fauna yet, but there are lots of POIs like cities, outposts, and derelict ships!

If they eventually add actual gameplay content even 5% as lush as the environment, that has a grind and reason to it long term... this game will undoubtedly be the greatest in the space genre, possibly even open world survival period.

They really do need to throw some stuff to do on all those planets though, otherwise exploring will never serve purpose. It would take a lot of work I can imagine, but if they don't implement this aspect of the game properly, it would be a huuuuuuuge lost opportunity to make this the best space game ever. I really hope they will put enough focus on this aspect of the game, it 's the most important thing, especially to attract newer players whole aren't obsessed with non stop combat gameplay. As relaxing as this video may look for example, it 's s total waste of time and let 's face it, most people aren't going to waste their time like this with nothing to do in the environment :D

Starfield outdid this game in all categories except Starcitizen absolutely destroys it in actual space exploration & planet landing. I guess no one company can get it right

NMS and Star Citizen was boring because XYZ, but Starfield was bad because it got rid of XYZ. NMS and Star Citizen is bad for having ABC, but Starfield is bad for not having ABC. NMS and Star Citizen should have included 123 but Starfield shouldn't have included 123. Gamers just know how to complain and not have fun all in the comfort of their mom's basement.
