More info below:
The little Vespa trailer is nothing more than a whisper of aluminum, foam, and canvas...but in the sum of its parts, it becomes a harbor in the tempest and a conduit of human joy and connection. It creates a safeguarded space for us to enjoy the simple moments in life. Please enjoy this little refuge with me.

Why don't you call it TearJOY instead of Teardrop ( I do get it that it drops from the back) but for a layman he/she cannot connect.😀 The last video we saw some savage camping cooking skills, and if I were you I would make a bed of baby potatoes (red&white) and bake my chicken on top, thereby getting the gravy and the cooked potatoes with baked chicken at one go. Love your videos. Good Day. "Enjoy your ride". 👓

I have just subscribed to your channel. I remember seeing one of your videos last year and somehow lost the video and could not remember the name of your channel. I like these kind of videos because you 1, cook some delicious meals and 2, your videos are so calming because too many videos like these contain a lot of meaningless chatter and I like the videos like yours with yourself because you have a lot of knowledge and experience also the video I saw last time I remember you cooking a delicious meal and sharing it with a fellow camper which was a beautiful gesture. It is dedicated campers like yourself that if we ever parked up in a campground 'We live in the UK' but if we were on holiday in the USA and stayed at a campground You would be a lovely Camper neighbour to share stories with. Enjoy your travels and I look forward to your next video.

Thank you so much for your wonderful channel ❤ 😊 BTW, my Vespa is an ET2 and husband's Scooter is a Puggio (spelling?) Vespa's Parent Company. We love them both. We are 70ish years old and travel to destinations, stay awhile and travel again to other destinations. Love it, wouldn't trade the lifestyle for anything. Travel Safe to you and yours my new KZfaq friend.

Kia Ora Pam! I am REALLY glad you are enjoying my videos. The overarching theme is *always* about connection. Connection with our fellow human beings, connection with the country side, connection with ourselves. Filming these episodes is joyful and meditative and they keep me whole. I love your ET2! I had an ET4...same bike with slightly larger engine. You are close on the spelling of your husbands bike - Piaggio. I hope when I am 70ish I can still ride like you :) Lastly, please permit me to share this little video with you. It explains why I greet you with "Kia Ora!" This greeting was gifted to me by a viewer in New Zealand :) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLx0qJOlr664no0.html

Kia Ora Haydee! Thank you for subscribing to my channel. The teardrop is made from 1” thick insulating foam. It does a pretty good job of keeping me comfortable. Problem is, Arizona temperatures can go to extremes. 117F (42C) in the low land desert to 24F (-4.5C) in the mountains. When it’s hot, I try to keep the trailer door open until nightfall…it usually cools off enough to sleep. When it’s cold, I have a heavy insulated sleeping bag and battery powered heated vest. Wanted to mention that the stove (probably any camp stove) gets pretty warm underneath if you are cooking for an extended period of time. When roasting the chicken in the pot in the Thanksgiving episode, the stove's heat mildly warped the countertop underneath. That's why I now use the little aluminum table. Just keep an eye on it...I think for regular cooking times it's most likely not an issue.

Great video. Nice touch with adding in the shopping part of the trip and thanks for adding in the metric heights and temperatures. It’s good to stay inclusive. The quiet and calm of the meal preparation is so very peaceful. The facts and origin of the meals are super interesting to learn about. I thought the bear joke was very charming. The meals all looked amazing. 18:28 gave me chills. Which is saying something as I’m not the type of person that gets chills all that often. I feel like having a bit more variety in the music could add to the videos. Then again it could take away. I’m truly not sure but it is something to think about. Another thing.. I feel as though sometimes the audio feels a bit quiet in the video. Perhaps making the volume more consistent could be a good improvement. One thing that you’re doing perfectly though is the subtitles. They’re up long enough so you can comfortably read it all but not up for so long that it becomes a distraction. I also have a quick question. Why was there a mirror at the bottom of the Vespa? Why not anywhere else?

I really appreciate the thoughtful feedback! Actually, I got chills writing the 18:28+ remark. It's interesting what you uncover when you have time to reflect :) I've had the same thoughts about the music...a few songs that are "trademarks" of the channel or more variety...I'll have to think about that. Audio is still a bit of a struggle. I purposely do not talk in the videos and mute the talking to a really low volume...that's deliberate...however, balancing dozens of audio clips with music and natural background sounds to achieve a consistent volume level is really hard...I'm still learning that part. I also appreciate the feedback on the subtitles. It's good to know that their timing is just right. As for the mirror - old Vespas did not have rear view mirrors or turn signals. In some states you have to retro-fit at least one rear view mirror to be road legal. I think the traditional handle bar mounted mirrors look ugly...so I decided to go with a lesser known leg shield mirror. It was hard to learn to look "down" at the mirror instead of "up"...but you adjust quickly. It was purely an aesthetic choice :) Thanks for the feedback and support!

Kia Ora Jose! Thank you for the nice words. My longest trip towing the teardrop with the scooter is about 12 miles one way. I have to stay reasonably close to home because my bike is 60 years old. Also, it takes concentration and skill to pilot the bike and trailer...and if I am on the road too long (30 or 40 miles) I think it would wear my brain out lol... In this episode, where I trailer the bike and teardrop with my truck, it was about 65 miles. Thank you so much for watching!

@thetinysideoftiny7625
@thetinysideoftiny7625 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim, the fuel is butane. Do you live inside or outside of the US? Here, canisters of butane are available anywhere. Walmart, Amazon, camping stores, restaurant supply stores, etc. I actually spray painted several cans of the butane with red spray paint. that’s why there’s no brand name or markings. I also have a link to that sandwich press in one or more of my videos. I love it and plan to use it in future videos.

@@thetinysideoftiny7625 thanks so much. Yes, I live in US. I thought it was propane. Now, I know it’s butane, I see lots of offerings. @@timeast4644 Thanks for the kind comments on my videos. I try to put a lot of effort in them. The folding wind shield is important. Butane stoves seem (to me) to be more susceptible to wind. Also, in daylight the butane flame is all but invisible. It makes it hard to regulate the heat. The wind shield darkens things and makes the flame a little easier to see. I just filmed another episode this weekend and used the shield throughout the filming. Thanks again for your interest in my little corner of the world. It's appreciated Tim!

I love the old full bodied metal scooters too, growing up riding 1950's Vespas, Lambrettas, Rabbits and Cushman's of coarse, The Turtleback model Cushman scoot is a beautiful sight to behold. As far a towability and power,, weight to horsepower ratio can be a challenge with small displacement engines especially if you weigh over 150 pounds, 2 strokes engines had their purpose back in the day, cheap to operate and quite easy to rebuild, But noisey, smokey & alot of vibration also a bit messy & inconvenient oil/gas mixing in the older engines. If you can find a modern Honda Elite or Helix 250cc drivetrain built from the early 1980's- thru 2000 from a donor scooter and transplant that unit in your Vespa you'll will have all the power you'll ever need, super quiet, reliable and fuel efficient and plentiful parts availability. 50 years ago i was transplanting small 4 stroke motorcycle engines in my Cushman scooters, As very few scooters had 4 stroke engines until the 1980's, Although 2 strokes have been banned or discontinued production because of emission standards, I must say that the modern- last generation of 2 stroke, water cooled engines have evolved alot. super quiet, fuel efficient and reliable as well as very powerful for their displacement. Ive always wanted a Yamaha Morphous scooter. Ugly modern duckling but something about that space aged tuna boat on 2 wheels appeals to me.

Hi Gary! Which bread are you referring to? I love carbs so there was lots of bread in the video lol. If you're talking about the Panettone, it's mostly popular at Christmastime and can be found in any grocery store. I've seen it in grocery stores occasionally year round. You can definitely find it anytime in an Italian speciality market. The silver vent is a passive air inlet. The trailer is a little too air tight so the vent is there for safety. ...watch out for bears...lol.

Hi buddy.. I recently discovered your videos and your travels.. I always wondered; I wonder if a wheeled camper can be towed with a small scooter? yes .. now i am convinced.. I congratulate you.. I take a vacation like this from time to time, but safety is very important to me..I witnessed him traveling on long and lonely roads in his videos..moreover, I saw that he had to continue on his way in the dark.. I carry my little friend with me on such trips. Do you have safety equipment?..for example; simple repair tools for the engine, tire repair equipment, communication equipment, security equipment (against malicious attackers and wild animals) To protect yourself, I think you should carry a gun to the extent permitted by law. remember; When it comes to "seconds", the police are "minutes" away from you. I wish you safe and safe travels. Meanwhile ; I'm a motorcycle rider too It would be great if you share with us the views during the journey, if you inform us about the moving road scenes (while driving on the motorcycle). good luck ..
