This could have been another Star Trek series instead of a PC game. They used the Voyager sets and some of the normal sets that are used for DS9 too. The characters are well fleshed out and the Borg theme was quite good.

better character development in this than the last two star trek movies put together.

I'm only 3 minutes and 14 seconds into this and I can tell already that it's going to be awesome. This is what makes Star Trek so great.

The bridge officer with the beard played a Klingon captain on a STNG episode. He was hilarious, especially when he challenged Data to a physical match (no contest). It was the episode where Picard, the Cardassians, Klingons, and Romulans were trying to solve the pieces to a puzzle that was started when Picard's former archeology professor visited Enterprise-D to ask Picard to come with him.

"There's a F**king BORG on the bridge!!!! And its HACKING into our ship!! What are we gonna do??!!" "We're going to sit here ad watch it!!" LoL. Oh dear.

I remember playing this game. I got it in 1997. was terribly buggy on the controls. It was a great attempt to actually play thru an episode of TNG. The game was on 4 CDs and i think i paid $70-$80 for it and Electronics Boutique. Ran it on Windows 95, 16 megs RAM, less than a meg video card! Pent 100mHz Packard Bell. Once you beat the game you could watch the "episode."

I remember when this game first came out I still have it in my loft. I can even remember parts of the dialogue right up to this day.

Couple of things... First to AmigaOmega...Thanks for uploading this. It was a thrill to see this again as I remember playing this when it first came out. It wasn't that hard of a game as I finished it in a night or two. I still have the game in with my other collectables. While I played it to completion back in '96 I forgot about alot of the storyline. I do however remember "Q" being in it and found him to be really funny in the episode. I also remember wanting to kick "Q" as well because he annoyed me while I was trying to play the game. However watching it again still made me laugh. Note abou the "father" character he also played a starfleet officer on the season 5 TNG episode "Imaginary Friend" as Daniel Sutter who ironically played a father of a girl named "Clara" in the episode. To all these people commenting about wrong uniforms and ship design is it really such a big deal??? Just sit back and enjoy! I know I did.

That episode is also an amazing balance of Picard's father figure issues/career regrets and other nice character interactions (the arm wrestling contest you mentioned) the internal mythology of Star Trek and it's races, and a cool mystery. Enterprise and Voyager could have REALLY learned from this one.

So wait, that second borg ship heading for earth, would that be the cube from First Contact or the sphere Voyager was hiding out in to escape the exploding transwarp hub?

It's so aggravating... I couldn't play this when I got it for xmas, I think it was something about codecs crashing the pc. Then when I learned how to fix stuff like this years later, no modern systems would allow it to run. Never got to play it.

Thought I recognized Nu,Daq from ( TNG: The Chase ). Loved his Klingon portrayal. " You Incompetent Topahh, You were supposed to be prepared ".

Noticed that mistake too. If the "Christie's Auction" proved anything, it showed Paramount had aisles upon aisles of crew uniforms, alien uniforms etc. Sadly, it appears the creators of the "Star Trek: Borg" game, failed to obtain permission to use the older TNG-era uniforms.

I have no idea why so many people hate FMV games. In all of the ones I have played they were really awesome to play. Granted the interfaces were usually badly designed most of the time but most of the acting is top notch and the effects are amazing :D The best one I have played has got to be the X-files one that was on PS1.

i loved the old Fmv games in the 90's i think Borg was one of my Faviroutes it presented a real challenge unlike many FMV based games ...it was not easy to say the least lol great vid

No it's not just you. It is the same class. The original Excelsior was the prototype, which was the model for additional ships -- though without the failed trans-warp drive. They were very commonly seen in DS9 during the Dominion War.

Ah, OK. Yeah, you're right. Given that the uniforms are anachronistic too, you wouldn't think they'd bother to re-build TNG sets when they had Voyager ones lying around.

You know, without showing how Q's ability to "reset" time affects Qaylan/Sprint's actions, some of these things make no sense. Certainly, if Qaylan is never assimilated on the Borg vessel after shooting at the drone, and thus never watches himself as a drone punch in the code on the terminal, he'll never know what to do with it. Ditto for knowing to 'trance' himself instead of trying to kidnap a drone. The viewer has to see Qaylan fail a few times for the "episode" to make sense.

Someone may have already said this, but that episode is called The Chase! It essentially answers why so many species on Star Trek are humanoid, besides being an excellent episode. It had the right mix of mystical and sciencey that I like. It also features Salome Jensen who played "The Female Changeling" as the "ancient alien" who tells them about why she brought them together. It also has the Curlin Nescar (sp?) which Picard haphazardly throws away in one of the movies (I think Generations)

My favourite part was when Q got kicked in the balls. That was badass.

Oh god I remember playing this with my dad as a kid (He's a major Trekkie). The part I remember most is when she was sitting in the chair, and I think that every option other than selecting to pull the thing off her head twice blew up the ship. XD This game honestly scared me as a kid. XD

The thing is, that the DS9 uniforms were *supposed* to be different, showing a different uniform for station personnel vs. starships. Therefore, there was no real discrepancy. Only later, around the time of "Generations," about 4 years after this story is set, did ship's personnel adopt the DS9 uniforms. So it is an error; perhaps they just didn't have enough TNG-style uniforms in stock?

Nuff said...but oh how one wishes they could add more :)

So THAT's how it was supposed to play. I tried it one time long ago and never got close. lol
