A 3D animation of the USS Zheng He, Enjoy!
The USS Zheng Hey served as a Federation starship of the Inquiry class and was under the command of Starfleet during the late 24th and early 25th centuries.
It is likely that the vessel was christened in honor of Zheng Hey, the notable 15th-century Chinese admiral and court eunuch. The bridge set used on the ship was a modified version of the USS Discovery bridge set.
In the year 2399, Acting Captain William T. Riker took command of the Zheng He as part of a fleet assigned to protect Coppelius.
The vessel was later part of a Starfleet armada assembled to confront a massive Singularity that emerged from a spatial anomaly.
During this mission, the ship faced a brief compromise when the Borg Queen assimilated the USS Stargazer and acquired its command codes.

Historic fact... Admiral Zheng He's fleet of Chinese ships, the largest of which could have carried Columbus' three ships on their decks, was called.... The Star Fleet! True!

Of note, at the start of the 25th century as the Inquiry class vessels in the fleet were transitioned from QRF to exploration duties, they were refitted with a more conventional main deflector as the grill style, though more well protected, caused endurance problems in high-speed long distance travel. An example of the refit can be seen at 7:09.

Oh yeah no On the background the design was practically last second And bring it into the story was also last second Whats even funnier is that they incorporated the rush into the lore as well As all those inquiries were fresh out of the shipyards and anchorages With that fleet being their first deployment

I appreciate that the unusual appearance of sloped deck windows along the spine are NOT truly what they are, and underneath there is the expected plan of flat decks. The curved line of white dots can instead be interpreted as just that: a line of white dots on the ship's spine perhaps art of the ship's tech systems.

Cool ship! It's about time Starfleet started to embrace the idea that the universe is a dangerous place and incorporate that understanding in their ships. Having said that, it would be really cool to see SF upgrade all their current ships along those lines. Miranda class with ablative armor & phaser cannons anyone? 🤣

The copy and paste introduction from Picard Season One put a bad taste in just about everyone's mouth, however, the ship is pretty cool on its own merits. It reminds me of a cross between Voyager and the Akira class. I particularly like the refit version with the revised navigational deflector. I wish we could have seen it in battle.

@@Halfscreen I'm still trying to figure out why in the hell the Federation would be retiring the Odyssey class Enterprise-F in 2401, the ship couldn't have been more than 15 years old since the Enterprise-E had been rendered unusable sometime between 2384 and 2386. Boy the Federation sure does love retiring ships with the name Enterprise before they are even 20 years old, let alone the 50 to 100 years these ships are almost certainly designed to be operable for.

I like to think that the Inquiry-class was meant to be an easily-constructed design that could be built and deployed in very large numbers, but it's really kind of too big for that at over 630 meters each, in my opinion. That makes it almost comparable to the Galaxy-class in length.

@@linsieharris7041imo their resources may have dwindled after the Control situation in the 23rd century cast doubt on their competence, so even though they had a fleet in the 23rd century, by the 24th century they were reduced to a spy service. Picard season 3 shows that even then they did conduct secret weapons and tech development at Daystrom station, which they may not have deployed because it wouldn't have been enough during the Dominion War. Instead what they did deploy was a genocidal virus which succeeded in forcing the Dominion into ending the war.

I think the forward hangar is in first for numberous of Fighters, like the Akira Class. And the Inquire Class is maybe a another Evolution of the development from a older project to build a ship for multi purposes but in first as a warship. I don't like the bulky desing but the funtionality of it is to be acknowleged. It has combine of the best Desing decisions from the 24th Century. Curiously after a couple of years they going a totaly different way to desing their ships, they looks like now the ones from the latest 23th Century. Less complex in construction and smaler in size. But not realy fit for heavy combat. Not the best decision from Starfleet. Maybe they have now split the Fleet in different Units. Deepspace Exploration: The Ships are more bigger as the most and have the best equipment and personal for a Travel that have a douration more than 5 Years and can defend it self as well. [like the Galaxy and Odyssey class] Defense Fleet: A combiation of different Shiptypes. From small and faster Escort ships, over Destroyers and crusiers to heavily armend Battleships and Carriers. The only function of this Fleet is the Battle and patrol the borders. [Defaint, Akira, Sovereing, Inqury ect. ect.] Multimission Fleet: They are consit of a wide varity of ship types. From simple support flights to Ships, Stations and Bases Smaler exploration like catograph a nebula, or planetary research, differnt diplomatic tasks and missions of mercy. [The USS Cerritos is maybe a part of this Fleet]

What's up friend, I have a question for you, I'm making a Star Trek starship simulator, and a realistic adventure game, for now just as an enthusiast, my idea is also to be able to do it for free, and open source, and failing that, if it's left nice, figure out the issue of the commercial license, but for the moment, I am making the ship simulator, mixed with rpg, systems, etc., I have created thousands of unique characters, of many races, names, compiling even fanfiction stories, etc., my idea is to make a multiplayer game (at some point, but following both real and invented stories) recreating that universe, but taking into account all the crew members and tasks of each one, and well creating intermediate stories, and new too, the idea would be to interact on the ship, without all the characters being the same, thanks to the blessings of the AI. Because of that, I have thousands of Star Trek things, to make that universe as rich as possible, which to my taste, is very concise in all the games I saw, none of them convinced me, none of them are realistic, etc., in my simulator I can fly a part of the ship, and affects its functions etc. One of the most difficult things now is to see how to make the map of the ship, realistic, and seeing that I got here :D, so realistic that you can get into a duct, or corridor, or turbolift, in an appropriate way, and that the views are real, which is very difficult, my ideal would be to do it in 3D! but I don't know what I can use and program for it, what I did think was that I could map in some way, the hallways, etc. (after each place it is easy to make a room, let's say) but the idea is to make it realistic, having to walk the hallways, even in a photographic mode like the old RPG games, at scale, it becomes titanic, because everything is a lot of work, one of my ideas was to make pathfinder on the ship maps, but with a small scale pff , it becomes more complex than I expected and it doesn't even work as well as I expected, but hey, one option is still in 3D, or a false 3D, or something like that, I wanted to ask you if you would like to participate in the project, I know that the work What you have done with the videos of each floor is great, I ask to ask if there are chances to share them? (simply to see if it can be converted in some way to something that is useful for the game,) and if not generate photos at each step of the entire ship, round trip xD, then I reprocess it by AI to give it textures, etc. . he he. I know the answer could be a big no, and that many people sell those things, I don't want to abuse or detract from the great work, I also wanted to ask you what you use to make the CAD or 3D of that? or what you can recommend to me, they are just ideas, I will do things within my possibilities, and I know that if I want to make a good mapping of all the ships, I will already be fried, and I will need a lot of help, the idea at least is to put together something that can be customized for the user and shared with fans of the saga, it is something very ambitious, but hey, it is enjoyable to do it too, well if it helps you to share them exclusively for that, generate the photograph, or the mapping, leave me a message, in the video from my channel, I will try to see how I can create the maps, inspired by your 3D designs, opinions are heard, greetings!

At the moment, I'm using 3DS max and in many cases, get 3D models for various site such as 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/ since the models are free. Much of my modeling skills are rather basic and I recommend using pre-existing 3d models to save you time. Modeling and texturing is such a time consuming process especially if you are one man team and don't have the resources to hire other people. I don't recommend using CAD since the files size can be outrages and isn't recommended for real time graphic.

@@Halfscreen Thanks a lot! You are a 3D master, with that I am saved, I see that there are even the models of the curved internal corridors, crazy, thank you very much, I am going to find out how I can see those models well, and then export them, I can do some trick, but I will analyze all the options, to see if it is better to create the fragments, map them as tiles, or directly assemble the entire ship in 3d, I am quite obsessive so it is a possibility, just yesterday, I also started exploring godot, to see if I It was useful to do it there, since it has useful mapping tools, so that information about the models will be very useful to me, I have to explore possibilities, I have seen that there are incredible 3D simulator projects, which work down to the buttons on each part, but they seemed completely empty to me with respect to the soul of the saga, history, etc. I'll see how it goes there.
